I got LCD-2 and the Audeze Deckard amp.   Just now, I set up a little Amazon Echo Dot (paid $40) and hooked up the headphones directly to it through 3.5mm.   It sounds just as good with the amp, is my first reaction.   I was going to hook up the amp, but am not sure why bother.

I've had a couple pairs of headphones that have a little box you can turn on dolby. I use them for gaming mostly.   When I do, the sound sounds far away and 'airy' - a lot worse. It's hard to see the attraction. Any comments what it's good for?
