Drop x Sennheiser PC38X
I have the 363d's, and the ear pads are in bad shape. But they don't feel removable/replacable, despite the link above showing replacement pads saying they are 363d compatible for $29. Anyone have info?- Craig234

Review by 'Craig234' on item 'Sennheiser HE 1'
I ran across the info that demos were available in San Francisco and booked one. They were able to play vinyl, but couldn't get an internet connection working, and had about 1-2 dozen albums to pick from. The obvious first pick for me was Dark Side of the Moon. Others were jazz or vocalist...- Craig234

Suggestions for budget laptop headphones?
Thanks for the suggestion! Two brands I hadn't heard of as much as I've looked at headphones, and both look good! Any suggestions on models or which is better? I'm not sure yet if she'll be connecting to 1/8" or USB.- Craig234

Suggestions for budget laptop headphones?
This is for a gift for a laptop user. They'd like headphones for listening to online sound - talk and music. They don't need a mic, it's not for gaming. I'd say the priorities are the best sound for the price, and comfort very important - smaller head. Any recommendations around $40-$50? Or...- Craig234

Connecting 1/8" headphones to ipad mini 3.5mm
Update: the person solved it. I'll spare them the indignity of the solution being posted here. Thanks. I got someone a pair of Samson 950 headphones which come with a 1/8" connector to use with an ipad mini. The plug is too big for the jack they said (also too big for the macbook pro...- Craig234

Inexpensive travel headphones
I'm being asked for a suggestion on some travel headphones for use with an iPad - they want to spend about $50. Any suggestions? Are over ear or in-ear clearly better?- Craig234

Convenient setup
Yes - it sounds good to me, it just sends the digital signal. I hear nothing bad from it.- Craig234

Convenient setup
Here's how I have my LCD-2's set up with a Deckard DAC/AMP: It has two inputs, USB and RCA. My computer goes to USB, and I bought an echo dot and a 3.5mm to RCA cable for the RCA. So, now, I can get all my computer sounds - gaming, youtubes - easily. And with the flick of a switch to...- Craig234

Cable adapter needed
So, you're saying the USB input is digital to the amp dac, while the RCA input expects analog input... I have to expect the DAC in the amp to be higher quality if it matters.- Craig234

Cable adapter needed
One question I just thought of - is either the USB cabling, or the 3.5mm to RCA, likely to be better quality sound than the other? I haven't tried the RCA inputs yet but expect them to sound the same.- Craig234

Cable adapter needed
Thanks to both replies. The 'input' was an error, it's the dot output. Those 3' would work but I think just an adapter instead of even that would be ok as the dot can sit right next to the amp. It's a nice little setup - just say 'play song' and it's playing. That part is great, and I'm...- Craig234

Did I even need an amp?
I like LCD-2's more than you describe, and they're growing on me - but I am interested in seeing others, to improve areas, such as the recommended Graedo line. It's sounding like not a big deal not using an amp; that I can listen more for differences (this was a brief reaction); and as long...- Craig234

Cable adapter needed
Just bumping because I still need to pick a cable. I know I don't want a $500 kryptonite-coated cable signed by a celebrity and I'll make the standard mention of Monster, but not sure if a cheapo is good enough or not.- Craig234

Did I even need an amp?
I'm still trying to keep the topic of the LCD's out of this topic, and I repeat I like a lot about them - it's the 'whether you can hear the difference without an amp' that's the question here. On your analogy, headphones are more like mistresses, how many to afford.- Craig234

Did I even need an amp?
Ya, this is a separate issue from the LCD question - which sound great in many ways - it's just whether the amp is needed for them to sound like they're supposed to, which they seem to even with the presumably weak echo dot output. I'm very satisfied with much of the LCD sound.- Craig234

Did I even need an amp?
I got LCD-2 and the Audeze Deckard amp. Just now, I set up a little Amazon Echo Dot (paid $40) and hooked up the headphones directly to it through 3.5mm. It sounds just as good with the amp, is my first reaction. I was going to hook up the amp, but am not sure why bother.- Craig234

Good sounding PC speakers
Despite having some of the recommended pairs, they're still in boxes yet unused so I can't firsthand, but I would recommended googling on some of the PC gaming magazines and website, because they do reviews and recommendations of best pics. And some of them are little-known names it's good to...- Craig234

Reasonable PC Gaming Headset/Headphone+Mic Combo?
I use the Seenheiser 363D for gaming. Good mic. My first reaction was that they were a bit flat, but maybe my listening changed, now no complaints they're quite nice. Before that were Plantronic GameCon models - cheap $30-$40 on ebay and good sound.- Craig234
