As i see, it is often used as a term for clarity, made by the lovers of muffled, veiled, overly dark, etc. headphones. For these people clarity is strange, because they are not used to it, so they create a term to justify that their favourite headphone is the best.

8db not just a little energy but a peak and that is in the worst place, where human hearing is the most sensitive. Even a flat 3-4K response can sound bright, totally no need any extra energy there.

Sems good, but i would not say its ideal, based on the frequency response it has an upper mid and treble peak. The graphs also dont say too much about imaging, soundstage and overall coherence, tonal balance. Anyway, need to hear how it sounds in reality.

U fcan also try the Jplay, thats a very good quality player, although not the best user interface.

The Shure SRH1540 is very good at low listening levels, maybe u should try it.

I think the normal response is the most natural and "organic", and not some dip or peak, so those AKG-s or Sennheisers are more natural, organic. Maybe you already heard about the famous Sennheiser mids.

I would recommend the Final Audio Pandore Hope. That headphone is very good for movies, one of the best bass response that i've ever heard with headphones.

Maybe try some Sony stuff, they usually making great players.

Maybe u should try the Canor TP10, that is a hybrid amp, very musical and full sounding.

Maybe the iBasso dx90 worth a try.

I think the Fiio E10K really good for the price. I used for years and there was totally no problem, the build quality is really ok and the sound also good.
