Mine are 024437 Made in slovakia. Although capsules "speakers" are made in austria, everything else is made in slovakia i think (cables, case, materials  etc..)...   This will change, because AKG is closing factory in austria in 2017.

I am pretty sure it's the cable. Replace the cable and it will work again.

True. That's why i will never buy headphones above 250€ it just not worth it.

Yea i don't understand how much better can sound get, so this huge difference in price is just stupid.

I just got K712 today, it is made in Slovakia. I can only say sound is amazing when you connect it directly into X-Fi Elite PRO.   Bass is so natural and real and also high frequencies are very nice.

Yea, slovakia is super close to austria. I think quality will stay the same as made in Austria.

Yea i see now, 3D view on right side there's a sticker, Made in Slovakia (EU). I think slovakia is still way better than china.

Well Sony MDR-SA3000 frequency range is 8Hz - 100kHz which is insane. I know that frequencies above 50kHz can't be heard anyway, so they are just here for the "wow" moment, K712 Pro's are from 10Hz-40kHz. Sony also has 50mm drivers.

So this means they have the "same" frequency response, if you take ear pads off ? I am considering buying K712 Pro, i currently have Sony MDR-SA3000.   But i don't know if K712 Pro will be an upgrade from MDR-SA3000 or not.

Hi everyone. What's the size of AKG K712 Pro driver units ? I can't find this information anywhere. Also i want to know how does Sony MDR-SA3000 compare to AKG K712 Pro.
