I just heard it's an extra step for improving the results. I am likely wrong, but still... The MDH9000 is plugged into a Dragonfly Red DAC + Jitterbug. About the graphs, here they are:

My MDH9000 finally arrived. Loved it. I then looked into EQing it. I used the Equalizer APO with Peace. Got the graph and did it, the results were terrible: sounded like a cheap bluetooth phone speaker. Then I tried my hand with the MPH-2 graph, because of how similar they are. Now it's better...

I think dremelling is the way to go.

Yeah, I think I'll go with the isk. By the way, it seems there's a new rebrand: Freeboss MDH9000.
