I use exactly the same combo hd6xx and Red. Quite happy with the output but not really thrilled. Coming from hd598 I expected a bit more. I play only hi -res files. Form factor is really important to me that's why I got the red. But with all this talk about better amps you can only wonder how...

Thqnks for the input. I understand the versatility but I am just looking for dac/amp to improve sound quality of flacs mostly from my iPad. All the extra features on e5 is an overkill for me. Is the sound quality significantly better.

I just got dragonfly black (was going to get red) for my hd598. E5 massdrop ends in a day. Is E5 better?

This BS Massdrop was the biggest disappointment ever! Tried for 2 hrs but never got in.
