Sorry to hear this. If I were you I would try bring it to a phone repair shop and see if they have any option to replace the screen. Opening up the device will not be easy but I think it can be done. Doesn't matter if you break the screen, because it already malfunctions (or at least the...

    ONKYO DP-X1 | Dual Sabre Dacs | Balanced | Sabre BTL Amp | MQA | DSD 256 | Android 5 |

I fail to see the relation between the two. The X1 has only one set of DACs; a set of Sabre dacs in this case. These dacs perform the D-A conversion. There are no other components in the X1 which may be able to do D-A conversion besides the Sabre dacs. The boards of the X1 are not drawn up from...

That was exactly my point: You play files in another format, which may cause a higher battery drain. As much as I enjoy this forum, i regularly notice people making statements and other people basing opinions on that, followed by other people claiming that what was stated in the first place is...

Sorry, but my DP-X1 playing nothing but Flacs at reasonable volume all day plays for over 9 hours without a single recharge. I have 2 SDXC cards in the device, Wifi enabled (and connected), bluetooth disabled and most background apps (Google junk) disabled and it just plays and plays and plays...

Looks like something you installed by yourself (or someone did this for you). I have never seen this before. Perhaps check the installed programs for something that may trigger this?

I guess that is where personal taste and background / previous experience comes in. I found the AK interface to be very limited in functionality and not intuitive at all. Perhaps that is because I got used to "the Android way of doing things" (all my phones, tablets, STBs, TVs etc are Android...

I compared DP-X1 to AK 200 but was not impressed with the AK200. DP-X1 sounded way more detailed and on top of that the interface of the DP-X1 was waaaaaay nicer to use than the AK interface. Also, the DP-X1 had a better screen, better screen size and -of course- gives the flexibility to install...

I am actually quite eager to hear your experience with the HifiMan 400i combined with the DP-X1. I heard the combo and found them to be quite flat and powerless. Seems the 400i drwa too much power from the DP-X1 to get them going. The DP-X1 brought no soundstage and was unable to make the 400i's...

It is possible to view all songs for an artist. Just look up and select the artist you want and then click "All Songs". That will display all songs for the artist you selected (tag based).   Don't know about the playlist stuff though, I don't really use playlists so perhaps someone else can...

If you are looking at tags, then you see the tag information being displayed. I you browse folders, then of course the file names are displayed.   So, basically you have the option to browse by: - Genre / Artist / Album / Song (tags) - Artist / Album / Song (tags) - Album / Song (tags) -...

Yes, it is. Actually the 256 Samsung cards are preferred over the 200Gb Sandisk cards, as the Samsung cards are significantly faster. Some folks on the forum have 2 x 256Gb cards in their DAP and it works like a charm ;-p

The DP-X1 sorts files and folders any way you want it to. You can simply browse the folder structures, or go through you library based on tags (artist, genre, album, etc).   I find the UI quite pleasant and smooth and it works without issues. There are two things I find annoying, however: 1...

Best you can do is order a new (balanced) cable. Simply tell them what dap and headphones you have and you'll receive the correct cable.

I can only tell you that my DP-X1 has no issues with the output jacks. Others have had issues in the past and they applied all sorts of fixes (epoxy among others) but mine luckily does not require that. Not a good thing to say, but I guess it takes a bit of luck to get one without jack-spacing...

Yes, the DP-X1 can be switched from fixed to variable line out and vice versa, so the line out can be used to hook it up to your (pre-)amp.

I've seen benchmarks where it even surpasses that. The important factor here is the type of memory used (vnand). Just google around a bit and you'll quickly find the benchmarks and tests I'm referring to. Sorry for the offtopic post... :)

The Samsung SDXC is much much much faster in writing. The Sandisk writes at a max speed of 5 - 10 Mb per second (in theory it could be faster, but in practise it comes nowhere near that speed). The Samsung can write at 40mb easily and peak at 70 mb per second. So not only capacity, but also...

Fully agree! My NOCS800 have a BA design as well and they sound just amazing with the X1. Hope the PM3 will do the same when I try them next week! On a sidenote: I don't have any issues with batterylife. It plays continuously throughout the day and makes it up to 10 hours easy. I did disable...

I cannot imagine the X5 having a more powerful amp than the DP-X1, and for sure the X5 doesn't sound this good. Even single ended, let alone when using it balanced. The X1 really is a neat and very good sounding dap. With my Nocs 800 iems it really sends chills down my spine when listening to...

Did you really shut it down? Or just stop playback? It is known that the X1 keeps consuming power even though no music is playing, so it may keep draining the battery.

I tried the Audeze EL8, Final Audio VI, Audeze Sine, Hifiman HE 400i and Hifiman 560. None of them played up to par with the X1. Tried the forementioned headsets with an AK300 and the results were similar to what I heard with the X1; sound was flat, liveless and lacked dynamics. Hope someone...
