Just opened them up to have a look at the contact point that was giving me trouble.  To anyone else who ends up taking off the plastic clip, be SUPER CAREFUL with the lead wires. They overlap the clip and are tiny enough one might miss them until it's too late.  I had to move them over, and...

Nice one :)    How about getting in between the two pieces of plastic that make that hold the driver to get at the jack contact points?
