for 2C i use this setup ; ifi idsd micro bl + schiit valhalla 2 ( stock tube ) topping D70 + smsl sp200 or Valhalla 2 standalone questyle cma 12 topping D30+A30 ( but not so good compare to the others combo ) i will rec you to try all the dac/amp @Local shop or hi fi community

IMO is this your 1st setup ? you might want to look for dac+amp the whole package He400i works well with topping dx7s or dx7pro ( both are dac+amp ) i would recommend chord ( chord mojo ) and IFI ( micro idsd bl & Xdsd ) but the cost will be over $200

That smsl thx works well with hd6xx hd58xx and hd660s too

went to the shop --> blind purchase --> it's time to retire my old 400i definitely an upgrade from it , works well with my ifi imicro bl although to my ears a little bit bright at certain songs ( @ ifi setting 3D ON ) once 3D off and the Xbass takes over and WOW.... i just can;t put into words...

it's a no for me with HE 400/ HD 650 however my mdr1am2 / B&W P7 / ATH ws1100 sounds good with this dac - amp combo i think just a matter of preferrence or taste but if you don;t mind with the stereo sound for gaming / movie . YES !! this is a fun dac-amp combo
