Reply to review by 'Mrcrunch08' on item 'KZ x HBB PR2'
While there's a lot here I disagree with and think may be an exaggeration I do find the rating potentially valid. Coincidentally it seems all good reviews either come from those who got it free or a small handful of people who got it early and are most likely fans. I've been let down by a couple...- Mrcrunch08

The discovery thread!
I still stand by my opinion for my pair. I probably wouldn't have been so impressed if I got the pair my daughter did first though. I would have found the bass lacking but my opinion of it's technicalities for the price would remain the same. I still feel both are well worth the price and class...- Mrcrunch08

To be fair even the same iem can sound like a new iem given some of the differences I experienced purchasing second pairs of some of my iems for my kids. I hated the Mele so gave it to my son since he enjoyed it then just bought a second pair after hearing it might be discontinued and it is...- Mrcrunch08

The discovery thread!
Are there any driver pics for the current planars like the Timeless and S12? HBB claims those two along with two others actually use the same exact driver despite the size claims. Of course he provided zero proof besides showing a heat gun in his hand but if it is true what you said will...- Mrcrunch08

Looking at that graph doesn't excite me much. That SPD 2.0 seems to drop off hard after 13-14khz. I don't know how much that will actually matter but what makes it more complete than the Mele for me is the treble. I was really hoping the next iem with a SPD would have removed the ba like this...- Mrcrunch08

I would definitely argue against the Celest having "planar IEM bass". Don't get me wrong, I have fallen in love with the Celest and it has become my most used iem the past couple weeks. With that said, the bass reminds me of a subwoofer in a car or more specifically a sub with a passive...- Mrcrunch08

The Headphone Driver Pics Thread
I found an old picture of my dead wooden HE-560 and decided to take a couple of the Sundara. I wasn't brave enough to pull the screen off though I see they included some free hair and dirt on the driver for me. It's driving me mad knowing it's there now but I know first hand how easy it is to...- Mrcrunch08

The Headphone Driver Pics Thread
I wish I could have found a way to get at the magnet but the plastic covering it seems to be glued down. I still think what I could get pictures of interesting though. Everything seems virtually identical to the pics I seen in here of the Sennheiser Momentums. Sennheiser HD 4.40 BT I...- Mrcrunch08

Sorry for the poor quality of the pictures. Hopefully I can get some better quality pictures in the future. Hifiman HE-400i Hifiman HE-560 v2/3 (terrible looking compared to the old wooden one) Audio Technica ATH-WS1100i- Mrcrunch08

NEW Monolith M570 Over Ear Open Back Planar Headphone
Sorry for another post but I also had that issue with my first pair but it was an easy fix. It does require you to take the screws out and lift the driver out but that is very easy. Once you do that there is a screw that goes to the jack for each cup. Tighten that screw and see if it helps. My...- Mrcrunch08

NEW Monolith M570 Over Ear Open Back Planar Headphone
I have done the sweep thing a while ago and mine does the same thing between 800hz and 900hz. For some reason there is an imbalance there. Both channels have the same exact dip except where it happens is is different for each driver. Idk what is causing that dip but it does seem like something...- Mrcrunch08

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
I have owned them all except for the 660s and I just don't hear that gap. They are certainly not silky like the 650/6xx and still not as smooth as the 600 but I also never heard a persons voice be that smooth irl either. Imaging is definitely better on the 58x compared to those two and the...- Mrcrunch08

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread
That's a pretty unfair judgement you have here considering there are more than two explanations. While I still own the T90's they are hands down the best worst purchase I have ever made in audio. I returned two pair hoping they had issues because of how painful they are. They are at the extreme...- Mrcrunch08

My pair doesn't have the grain either but the pair I got for my son seems a bit drier/grainy compared to mine and his sister's. Also noticed there seems to be variation to the pads as well. Mine are nice and soft while his seem very stiff. My daughter's seem a bit stiff as well. Have you tried...- Mrcrunch08

Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee Review & Measurements
It seems to take them a few attempts to get replacement cables correct. Mine arrived with a broken cable and it took more than three months and getting cables for every HD5 series before finally having to explain to them the HD58X uses the same connector as their HD600 and HD650. Two weeks later...- Mrcrunch08

HD59x? Are we talking about the HD58x? If so what is wrong with the dots on the left side? Not only do I find it easier and more convenient since I can figure out the correct orientation without even looking at them I like not having colors on them or having to look around for a tiny L or R. That's what I'm listening to as well and right at the start of the end of that little build up and at the start of the following bass is that click that I am hearing.- Mrcrunch08

Around what time mark would it be? The closest thing I hear to a click with these happen around the 11-12 sec mark and is more the sound of making a selection or moving over a selection in the game. I hope you are talking about hellwalker from Doom. Lol- Mrcrunch08
