Yeah in order of comfort I'd say HX is most comfortable, Portal in the middle, H95 the least comfortable

Tried the HX. A little better than high end than the Portal, and a little more comfy. Controls a bit more suited to music. A little more stylish. Otherwise, pretty similar. I've heard some say the bass is significantly better on the HX vs the Portal, and IMO that is false. The H95 is...

BTW just as a follow-up to my B&O warranty experience (first pair had a loose screw in the earcup), the people manning the email support seemed quite daft but an RMA was set up eventually. Was mailed for RMA on 1/11/2024. Five business days later I received a new replacement, which seems fine...

The light colored ones look cool new but it is true that they get dirty really fast. I've seen some that were barely used and were already stained on the headband. Not the easiest thing to clean either. I went with Navy because I felt it was stylish but also hides wear well

Sure Well, the first thing is it seems B&O tried for that same sound signature the H95 had in all these products, but for varying reasons the form factor prevents all of them from reaching those heights B&O Portal (PS5/PC version; NOT the Xbox/PC version which has problems) - same basic sound...

Thanks for input. Damn I just got RMA info and local repair center is backed up a full month. I guess I'll return them to the retailer, but there is a good chance I won't be able to get a replacement unfortunately. A month is IMO unacceptable for a repair.

Hi all, Bought a pair of these and love them, but I think I got a defective pair. JUST want to confirm, in case there is any weirdness I am not aware of. In summary, the right earcup sounds like a screw is loose inside of it. It doesn't always bounce around, but sometimes it does. It's not...

Why Closed Back Headphones Sound Worse Than Open Back

As a reminder, all the higher sound quality in the world is pointless when it is polluted by loud outside sound. That is the point of a closed back headphone, you buy one for environments where you cannot attain a quiet background. Always getting the open back version is poor advice. Having...

Why Closed Back Headphones Sound Worse Than Open Back

If you are in an even slightly noisy environment, the closed back will have a vastly higher SNR and arguably better sound - at least for the HD820 vs HD800S. That is why they make the HD820 in the first place. Also you can't just compare the graphs 1:1 due to the differences in psychoacoustics...

    Sennheiser HD820

Basically, they are the closest thing you can get to the HD800S in a closed back, when you can't be in a quiet environment. That's pretty much their reason to exist.

Monoprice Monolith Liquid Platinum - By Alex Cavalli

If the warmup still seems to be working (i.e. the tubes dont just come on immediately) then you can probably use one of those switches you linked above. The repair cost will probably be half of what you paid for the unit used, so if it seems to be warming up OK then this is probably a...
