Samsung S10
In my usage (no super high impedance headphones - E70, H6, PM3) I'd say they are basically equivalent for audio, except that I liked that the V30 lets you tweak the DAC behavior. I did not do a side by side comparison (sold the V30 to help fund the S10), so I can't give you very specific details...- daboscovellen

Samsung S10
Coming from a V30, I find the S10 snapdragon basically comparable with my ATH‐E70s and B&O H6v2 in Tidal. This was not the case with previous Samsung phones that I tried.- daboscovellen

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
They're the angled pads, and they stay on just fine for me. And yeah, I just used a bit of gorilla glue on the end. One tip: if you do attach the pads to the clips, I found it made it a lot easier to first glue the pad exactly where you want it all the way along the outside ring of the clip...- daboscovellen

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
I used this tennis racket grip wrap: Tourna Leather Grip https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00STUOJCS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_tYA-BbVRM3FD0 I actually just went back and attached the pads to the clips. Didn't do the first one perfectly, but overall it came out fine and looks better: The new pads also...- daboscovellen

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
Here's my fix for the moment, since now they are an endangered species. Keeps the black flaky stuff from getting all over me at least. I may go back later and attach the new pads to the clip ring, but for now this is fine.- daboscovellen

iBasso IT04 IEM, 4 Drivers. Enjoy the Music! Release: July 2, 2018
FWIW I definitively prefer the E70 (with spiral dots) to the IT03, even though I was hoping to save a little money with the IT03 at the time. From memory, I found the E70 had better separation and timbre, roughly equal soundstage, excellent bass texture and slam for a BA IEM, and generally a...- daboscovellen

Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016
Tips that make them stick out a bit more (like the UE ones) may help if the housing is hitting your ear the wrong way, though it won't look super stylin'. Try to adjust the angle a bit too - twisting them forward a bit may work.- daboscovellen

Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016
Glad you are liking them, aside from the fit (which is the biggest issue with the E series for me). Comply will help with the hot highs and seal. But IME they also kill the bass a little more than I prefer. I find larger bore silicone tips to work best. If you can't get spiral dots, the...- daboscovellen

Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016
On the Tame Impala song (Tidal HiFi through Apogee duet), they honestly have fairly similar sound profiles. The MA750s have a bit more bass - mid-bass level in particular is a bit above neutral on the 750, but also slightly more bloated. They have similar soundstage and separation, though...- daboscovellen

Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016
I haven't heard the E80. I will try to do an A/B of the MA750 and E40 later today. Suggest a couple tracks to try them with on Tidal and I'll tell you the differences I hear. Build quality on the E40 seems fine. Cable is replaceable, which is good (the cable that comes with it is too long and...- daboscovellen

Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016
I have owned all except the E80. I would rank them E40 first (balanced, not as detailed as E70 and with less subbass but still really good for the price), then ma750 (very nice, excellent build quality and warranty, but with a bit of a midbass hump and sometimes metallic / strident high mids)...- daboscovellen

Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016
I usually use medium size tips but personally find the large spiral dots to seal better (medium are too small). Seal is really key for getting the sub bass and keeping things balanced.- daboscovellen

Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016
That's a shame. I too find them too harsh in that region with the stock silicone tips. The comply ones help but also kill the bass, leaving them still feeling unbalanced. I really suggest you try the spiral dots before selling them, as it genuinely makes a significant difference to the sound...- daboscovellen

Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016
Large spiral dots are expensive but fixed the seal problem for me and do sound the best overall (balanced, with great bass, not sibilant). I might have returned them if I hadn't tried them with these tips, but now wear them everywhere. I much prefer them to V-Modas or the SpinFits, personally...- daboscovellen

Large Spiral Dots give the best results for me, personally (fwiw I usually use medium tips). I found that Spinfits make them more v-shaped and a little sharp. YMMV.- daboscovellen

Audio Technica ATH-E70, ATH-E50, ATH-E40 IEMs announced at NAMM 2016
More than many other IEMs, I find the E70 extremely tip-dependent. I agree that the highs are a little piercing / peaky with the stock silicon ones. The Comply tips are much better and open the soundstage as well, but you lose some bass. I find wide-bore silicon works the best for me overall...- daboscovellen

Oppo PM-3 : The Portable Planar - Impressions
I've tried all of those headphones you listed, and I also got rid of the B&W P5 s2 due to comfort (and also too much bass for my taste - it was a gift). For me, the PM-3 were the most comfortable for long listening sessions, followed by the H6. I find the PM-3 extremely comfortable - they have...- daboscovellen

I auditioned the Meze and Oppo, along with the Bang and Olufsen H6 2nd gen and the Bowers and Wilkins P7 (didn't try the Sine because I don't like on-ear phones and needed something for long listening sessions). You really can't really go wrong with any of them for the price. The Meze are warm...- daboscovellen

EL-P's solo album sounds amazing on the Oppos if you need something to tide you over. BTW what cable is that? I am considering the Lavri silver cable but am not convinced that it will actually make a difference beyond looking nice (seller claims it improves soundstage).- daboscovellen

I have the Null Audio Arete and there was no obvious change in sound from stock E70 cable, though I haven't ABd them so there might be slight differences. It does make a big difference for fit and portability, though - I hated the stock cable for those reasons.- daboscovellen
