For sale is a Hart Audio headphone cable for Dan Clark Audio (MrSpeakers) headphones. Cable is 15ft long with 1/4" TRS plug on amp end, and DCA plugs on headphone end. Only used sparingly, as I have a bunch of other cables and didn't often need the length of this one. My asking price includes...

Feedback by 'Bostonears' on listing 'SOLD Joseph Grado Hp-2i Hp1000'

Great transaction with Chefguru. He promptly answered my questions about his rare headphones, packed them well, and followed up to make sure they arrived safely. Highly recommended seller.

    CEntrance DACmini DAC/Amplifier Official Thread

The mod for variable output was done at the factory (for which IIRC, they charged an extra $100). Not sure exactly what it involved, but it's definitely not as simple as opening up the unit and changing a jumper.

    Grado HP1000 "The legendary Grado"

Thanks. Personally, I have only owned the HP2. Maybe the HP1's polarity switches made sense for professional sound engineers when trying to troubleshoot problems, but in all the years I've been listening to music as a consumer, I can't think of a single instance when I would have used them...

    Grado HP1000 "The legendary Grado"

A basic question for all the HP1000 aficionados here: Was the entire production run of HP1 units produced before any HP2 units, or was there an overlap period during which Grado was building both the HP1 and HP2 at the same time?

    Sony Acquiring Audeze!

IIRC, other than its gaming headsets, most of Audeze's headphones sells for $800 or more. That's higher than the price of PlayStation consoles. Seems likely to me that Sony Interactive will indeed shift Audeze resources away from the high end audiophile products to make more lower priced mass...

Interesting development. Emphasis will be on gaming headphones. Is this good news or bad news? Press release: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20230824336695/en/ Sony Interactive Entertainment to Acquire Audeze, a Leader in Audio Technology and Developer of Award-winning Headphones for...

    Denon D7000 headband replacement

I'm dusting off this ancient thread to add some info. I was able to successfully replace the headband pad on my Denon AH-D-series headphones with the leather ZMF Crescent Strap. (See photos below.) To be clear, this is just replacing the headband pad, not any of the other headband pieces. As...

    CEntrance DACmini DAC/Amplifier Official Thread

IMO, the original DACmini CX & PX are quite good. I still use a CX in one of my systems. I also previously owned a PX. I think its weak point was the power amp section, but I had no issue with its DAC or headphone amp. You could probably find a new DAC that has better technical specs, but I'm...

    All things Metrum Acoustics

I definitely recommend listening to these comparison files. Ironically, however, the differences you may hear between them can be affected by the characteristics of the DAC that you're listening to them through.

    All things Metrum Acoustics

Prior owner originally bought it with DAC2 modules. He upgraded it to DAC3. I've heard the Onyx both ways. Although I couldn't do a direct before/after comparison, I'm really impressed with how it sounds with DAC3. In particular, the treble seems "sweeter," without any noticeable falloff at the...

You might try spraying some contact cleaner into the input selector knob. (My DACmini has never had this problem, but my car did, and contact cleaner fixed it.)

If you can find brand new ones at that price, it's a very good deal. (I own two pairs of ESW9, and they're still my favorite on-ear headphones.)

QUAD PA-One Valve Headphone Amplifier and DAC

Companies usually discontinue products because they're not selling well. I liked the Quad PA-One products, but always thought they were overpriced, and I suspect that the typical customers for Quad's music systems were not the right target market for the PA-Ones. (Or conversely, the right target...
