Just a quick update, recently got the HD650, and am trying to run it on the Schiit Magni 2 as the amp And my Fiio E10 as the DAC. I need a set of RCA cables to do so, but don't know whether the Brand name matters. Could a generic one from my local Best Buy work?

So what's the consensus on if there's any differences at all in the sound signatures between the Magni 2 and the Magni 2 Uber?

Perhaps this is a hackneyed response but have you tried the Audiotechnica M50s? They are fairly solid for rock and runs literally at your price range
