    SoCal Meeting 8/2/03!!!

13DoW, My experiences with the 5 and 605 have been typically horrendous. I would recommend 5 to the 57, to the 210. Also, checking out the current traffic situation at http://www.sigalert.com/ is always a good idea before making long trips.

    Why closed cans at work??

When I worked as a programmer, I communicated with people via MSN Messenger, even if they were 3 feet away. There were also some people nearby who blasted a lot of music I didnt care to listen to, so closed cans worked out great. This probably isn't the case with most professions, though...

Gear for sale folder - day old V2 courtesy Sovkiller

I received my Gilmore V2 today from antness. Fantastic amplifier. My Grado HP-2s, Etymotic ER-4S, and Sennheiser HD-600s never sounded better. I haven't had too much experience with other amps, but so far I'm hearing loads of detail, fantastic high frequency extension, a clear midrange, and...

Help me pick out a good watch

This Skagen watch was already recommended by Vwap to two Head-Fi'ers (including myself), who picked them up immediately. Shall we try for a third? Ultra-slim. Casing is titanium. Band is a stainless steel mesh, titanium plated. Danish design, Japanese movement. edit: You can find it...

Seattle Meet! Sat., March 1st, 6pm at Experience Audio!

Thanks for getting everything planned out Eric. I don't have too much gear, but I'll probably bring my stock HD-600s. Quote: Originally posted by radrd I'll tenatively say that I'll be able to go. Transportation will be a bit of a problem (even that short of a distance), and I'm not...

what do you guys drive as your main vehicle?

    I don't drive too often, but when I do, I typically steal my mom's 1996 Infiniti Q45.

Movie soundtracks. What do you recommend?

I don't think anyone's mentioned Gettysburg yet. Excellent score by Randy Edelman. I need to get myself hyped up for Gods and Generals this Friday

Movie soundtracks. What do you recommend?

I'm listening to the "Requiem for a Dream" soundtrack right now. It's an awesome mix of electronica and strings, featuring the Kronos Quartet. I'd also recommend watching the film; it makes the soundtrack so much more enjoyable.

    How can i open a Sennheider HD 600 ?

Just follow the wires as they go into the headset. There's a plug at the end just hidden by the casing. Pull gently on the stiff plastic around the wire and it should come right out

i'm going to buy a car, but need help

Convertible in Seattle? That's just ridiculous My dad's owned a Miata here in Seattle since 1992, and I think the hard top has been securely fastened to it since 1993. The car is damn fun to drive though. Reminds me of racing go-karts Under 30k, you might be able to pick up an Audi A4...

what linux distro are you running?

I've been playing around with Debian lately. I'm not really a hardcore linux user, so I don't know what works best for what... I just used Debian cause it was the easiest distro to get running on my XBOX

    Code monkeys, reveal yourselves.

Ah yes, the almighty graphing calculator. I have fond memories of writing Ti-83 Basic during high school. But I'd have to say, the Ti-89 programming language reigns supreme. (And the calculator itself, for that matter. The integral function alone is a lifesaver.)

What are the most hours you have ever worked in one week?

I don't see why we should exclude full-time workers. I think it'd be interesting to see how much overtime head-fi'ers put in while listening to their headphones at work. With that said, working full-time, my max work week is around 60 hours. I worked 19 hours in one day once, listening to my...

    Code monkeys, reveal yourselves.

I'm aspiring to code for a living... gotta get through this little thing called college first I've done some programming work though, mostly C++, some C#. Did some Java at school. In my free time (basically never), my friends and I try to do some game programming with DirectX. In the...

    headphone sightings?

A few months ago, on my way to class I saw a girl wearing a pair of Sennheiser HD580s. And then this morning, I was walking to my 7:30AM class, and I saw a man in a suit and tie walking away from the Graduate Business building wearing a pair of Grados. Other than those, it's mostly street...

Any interest in a Seattle meet?

I think we should get the ball rolling on this UW club. It'd definitely keep the window open for future meets. My schedule seems a little clearer next week, so if you guys need somebody to attend the orientation or get forms signed, I'd be willing to do it. Maybe we should get together for...

Any interest in a Seattle meet?

I'm pretty new to Head-Fi (first post right here, but I read occasionally), but if you guys actually want to set up a club at UW, I'd be happy to be member #4 I'm sure we're all a little busy, but I think it could be really fun if we got a lot of the headphone enthusiasts on campus involved.
