I was simply agreeing with the thread starter that these other products have dedicated threads...no different than if someone posted on various Audio Note threads on various forums about Audio Research, Conrad Johnson, Shindo, etc..- DigitalFrontEnd

I would have to agree with you. Roon and Bluesound are different product categories and unless they are being discussed after extensive direct comparisons, or even possibly, BRIEFLY in the context of comparing features and design, they should not be talked about here.- DigitalFrontEnd

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Update for potential Jil buyers. Successfully ripped two sides of an LP @24/192 on a Mac running Audacity. I will edit in Audacity and provide feedback on sonics as compared to a Korg MR-2. And, the quality of the USB cable and your input interconnects will make a big difference.- DigitalFrontEnd

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
hey you you schists. So called "reviewer" Herb Reichert schiits all over Schiit. It does not do MQA so it is yesterdays news: "Schiit's reference DAC would be my reference DAC—if only it had MQA and emptier empty spaces." "The Yggdrasil makes "Red Book" CDs sound a lot like MQA. But real MQA...- DigitalFrontEnd

It all has to do with the way the amp delivers current, and the speaker load. 99.9% chance if CA had used a stereo Vidar, he would have had no issues.- DigitalFrontEnd

Only for Mono configuration..yes. you need an 8 ohm speaker, I am betting his were not, OR longer cables....I could be off the mark, I am not betting my life on it, but this is what I determined.- DigitalFrontEnd

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I am almost certain this might be user set up incompetence. It is all about speaker cable length and capacitance. In Mono mode, driving a 4Ohm load, I am guessing you need at least 15 feet. It seems the cables that cause the amp to shut down, in mono mode, were 8 foot pairs. How long was the...- DigitalFrontEnd

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Hi John: Thanks a bunch! No problems. I actually have not ordered the unit yet, I will today or tomorrow. I was just looking for feedback from someone about the process. Seems like it stress free. Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
Of course it is. Taking for granted the ADC will convert analog to digital fairly transparently, it had better offer a range of formats. Look on Sweetwater or Musicians Friend and there are a slew of sub $500 ADCs, many offer recording to an SD card which I love, computer connectivity, and 16...- DigitalFrontEnd

Superb. I ask because IF my memory serves me, Jason was hesitant to say that the Vidar would be a great match for Maggis...probably because he did not know for sure... Getting reports from the field is the only way to be sure I guess. I love Maggies, and the only fly in the ointment they...- DigitalFrontEnd

Anything up to the 1.7, the top of my budget. I have never used Maggies with less than 100 wpc. On paper, I can see what you are describing would absolutely be true...would love to have heard it! But the bottom, line, no sweat for the Vidar?- DigitalFrontEnd
