new cans, ThinkSound On1 - cable microphonics disappointment !
I just got the ThinkSound On1 as a gift. They sound great and appear well-built. However, the cable is so sensitive to touching or rubbing that it transmits loud noise into the headphone with the slightest touch. It is bad enough (to me) that I am trying to decide whether to return these or...- bmillar

Help - directly connecting CD player to headphone amp has ruined me
Thanks for the reply. To answer your first question, yes. This unit has both optical and analog outputs, and the CD player can do the DAC process internally. Interestingly, I have now compared the optical output of the CD player routed through my digital integrated amp, and the sound is...- bmillar

Stax advice / opinions wanted
I have been the VERY happy owner of Stax Lambda Pro Signatures and the SRM-1/MK-2 Pro (serial No. C5107) purchased new in 1993 or 1994. Now I have broken the plastic frame of the Lambda's and previously I have performed a successful (but ugly) "home" repair of the headphone cables which had been...- bmillar
