I need some help with deciding on Hifiman RE-400 vs. Shure SE215 vs. Vsonic GR07
Are there any differences between the E80 and E80S aside from the inline mic and "smart switch"? No audio/tuning or build quality differences? I ended up ordering on Amazon and the E80S was only a $1 more than the E80. Total was $55.99- aoisoraa

Does what you plug into affect sound and can anything be done to make sound more consistent across multiple sources?
I see, I'll look into the Sound Blasters. The audio world is really a new place haha. Thanks for the guidance.- aoisoraa

Do you have any recommendations for Desktop DAC? Something tested and proven where I probably won't look at upgrading it for a while. I like the idea of having a consistent sound on the go but I remember my experience with the Fiio E6 and how it would die in 4 hrs. Maybe I'll spring for a...- aoisoraa

Oops, I meant the E6. It was at the top of Amazon ranking and still is :) Can't be charge during use unfortunately. So, the E6 is only an amp and not a DAC?- aoisoraa

The only DAC I've had before is the Fiio E7. I was kind of disappointed with it as well. Battery life wasn't that good and it had an audible hiss when there was no music playing.- aoisoraa

What site did you get the Creative sound blaster from? On head Fi? It looks like it retails for 50. Just over 20 is amazing deal :O- aoisoraa

So it's the fact that all the devices have different DAC is what makes the audio inconsistent?- aoisoraa

Does what you plug into affect sound and can anything be done to make sound more consistent across multiple sources?
For example, my Havi B3 Pro1 sounds much less loud on a Nintendo 3DS, gets fairly loud when plugged into an iMac, medium loudness on a LG G2 and when plugged into my Xiaomi Redmi 3, I can just leave the volume maxed and it is just loud enough with flat EQ applied. I only know that a DAC can...- aoisoraa

I need some help with deciding on Hifiman RE-400 vs. Shure SE215 vs. Vsonic GR07
If only they had stores where we can try all sorts of earbuds on. :( Like microcenter for earbuds. Years ago in my home country I remember being able to walk into music stores and sample the music. I don't see stores like that in the US at all.- aoisoraa

Do you know about Havi B3 Pro 1? I got them based off reviews on here and I was kind of disappointed. They are also apparently reference sound. I'm replacing them as I did not like what they sound like. I'm also a bit more wary of Head-Fi reviews than before so I don't really base my...- aoisoraa

I'm found a pair for $58.29 new. Is that a good price? Its shipping from US so I don't have to wait too long for it to come compared to a China shipment.- aoisoraa

Also, how would you compare the RE-400 and the E80 with the Vsonic GR07? I've never owned IEM more than $40 so I don't have a basis to compare with.- aoisoraa

Thank you. :) I'll check around for the Soundmagics. I found the RHA in my budget though. You've owned the RE-400 before right? Did they break on you? On all the headphone forums I've been on, there are a lot of threads with broken RE-400s.- aoisoraa

I need some help with deciding on Hifiman RE-400 vs. Shure SE215 vs. Vsonic GR07
I'm interested in the RE-400 for the soundstage and neutral sound tuning but am terrified of the poor build quality. The reason I'm getting new IEM's are because my Tenores broke. How does the GR07 compare to the RE-400 in sound and build quality? I was also considering the SE215 but it...- aoisoraa
