5+ years later I still love these headphones.  But they need new ear pads, and could use a refurbish.  Is there someone on here who does things like that?

Sweet! You saved me a bunch of money Towert7. The offer was accepted, with CA sales tax, and shipping, I'm getting the DT770Pro/80 set for $162. $40 less than the 595's and probably 50+ less than if i got the 770's from guitar center. My Hero!

ha! crap... I had to cancel my order, I realized that the 595's are open, and it is pretty important that I ditch most outside noise. back to square one. sigh.

Because it looked like I was going to waste my money by being impatient and buying local, I purchased Sennheiser 595's for $194 on Amazon. The reviews were amazing both here, and on thier site, so I took the plunge. Can't wait to get my hands on them next week!

Guitar Center has the Audio-Technica ATH-A500 Headphones for 150, what do you think of them?

IMO, IEMs are not comfortable for a 10 hour day. I use them when riding my motorcycle, but for me at work i'd rather not even know they are there. All the local guitar center's are sold out of the DT770 Pro/80s .

also: in the specifications, it says Connection: Gold-plated stereo jack plug (3.5 mm) and 1/4" adapter (6.35 mm) Is that what I need for a computer mini jack? or do i need to get an extra adapter.
