I would not worry yet. If he bought them like me from eBay using their Global Shipping Program, he pre-paid already the import taxes together with the shipping like I did. I my case the total bill for shipment + taxes was around 75 USD if I remember right but I leave in CH and our VAT is only 8%...

Actually I do own already a 400i (and a TH-X00, a HD650 and a few others ...) so I will be happy to provide my impression when my 1060 reaches me (I am in Europe so it may take a bit more time ...)
