What makes some eartips so expensive, they can't cost much to produce? And why are most sold in packs of three different sizes? I don't know anyone with three sets of different sized ears. Am I supposed to keep one set and throw the other two away?

I've tried out nine variations which can't all be called ksc75's. These are: Standard Ksc ..with Kramer mod ... with grill mod. Rewired with silver plated upgrade cable Standard...with Kramer mod...with grill mod. Porta Pro drivers with Ksc earclips standard...with Kramer mod....with grill...

Yep that's them! Yes although the KSC 35's are black, I think they have the same driver as the Porta Pro. I have tried fitting the Porta Pro speakers into the KSC 75 clips, and this is my favourite combination. The problem is you can't seem to buy the clips separately, so you have to...

These are very good earphones. They do need different tips to the ones supplied to get the best out of them

No...I just used standard cable from a broken set of earphones. I have tried experimenting in the past with high grade cable and to be honest have found the results, considering effort and cost, largely disappointing. Which is strange considering the difference speaker cable can make.

My SHE3800 came with a J cable which I put up with for a couple of days before I re-cabled. They sound okay, but when compared to the TY-HI Z there seems to be a curious bloating to the mids, and a lack of general lack of air and openness. In fact I find the TY preferable in every way

The she3800 doesn't have controls, but I believe there is a version that does. It is more expensive.

Well I haven't tried the vivo but of the others - superlux - zircon - tennmak - kzate in that order... with a big preference for the first two

I prefer the TY HI-Z 32 to the Monk+ slightly better bass and more transparency. At under four dollars the Plextone X41m are hard to beat for good bass and detailed treble

Must say I agree with 1Cleaheads review of TY HI-Z HP32 I too prefer them to the Monks. Great value well worth trying.

I was wondering if anyone has tried wearing the Monks sideways like Mrice E100 ?
