Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!
I was trying to decide, so I listened to both at Canjam. TC technicalities are spectacular, but I couldn't listen to more than one song on them. The treble is too much for me. I personally had to get vegan pads for even the MR treble to settle down for my ears. I Love The MR and I've listened to...- Devodonaldson

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!
Different positions. Original or stock is seam facing headphone port. From there each rotationup adds bass while lessening other parts of freq. I prefer seam at top rear position. Seam at top front has more bass, but I feel it loses more in the midrange cleanliness at that position. Try all four...- Devodonaldson

Campfire Audio - SuperMoon
Sorry to hear that. I thankfully was able to go on a Classified ad yesterday and snag a pair from 2023 at a reasonable price. I was looking at Drop, but the estimated time was too long for me, so I went for second hand- Devodonaldson

Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion
Definitely some type of bass shelf roll off, mid range sucked out, and a upper treble spike feeling, due to the loos of midrange presence. They can sound ok with some dacs. I used them without eq for months I thought I liked them. The cipher cable, came later for me, and while I enjoyed the...- Devodonaldson

Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion
Speaking of imaging. I think the best impression I ever got was when I had the i4 connected to my FiOS btr5 Bluetooth device, using it to play legend of Zelda on my Nintendo Switch. I was outdoors in the game and was hearing what sounded like crickets or something similar. I'm on my living room...- Devodonaldson

Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion
i4 needs eq for 1. But the potential is enormous. Sound wise I prefer my eq'd i4 to my Abyss Diana, and most headphones I've heard at Canjam. Euclid has decent out of the box sound. i4, eq is pretty much a must to sound Good. On the plus side, you can still do well with a 5 band eq. 10 band or...- Devodonaldson

I'm definitely treble sensitive. You may want to get your hands on the Vegan pads. I can't handle the treble on the leather pads at all on any of the models, but the MR with the Vegan pads is great, IMO- Devodonaldson

Focal Bathys - Wireless ANC Over-Ear Headphone
Or you can get a Creative bt-w5 USB c APTX Adaptive transmitter and use that to transmit APTX Adaptive from your phone. That's what I did to upgrade from AAC with my iphone- Devodonaldson

Audeze LCD i4 TOTL In-Ear Monitor Discussion
Yeah...I have the Euclid, and I just wish it had a bit more impact. That's one reason I'm so interested in the Campfire Audio Supermoon. I heard it at Canjam last year and did a direct comparison. I used to think I wanted basshead level bass, but I now like just clean bass with just a bit more...- Devodonaldson

Perhaps you may want to look into oval tips. Much closer to shape of ear canal. Comply has foam oval, and adv has silicone- Devodonaldson

Focal Bathys Hi-Fi Bluetooth & ANC Headphones: Early Impressions
So the analog mode is more of a double amping solution. You get analog output from your device, but it goes into the Bathys and gets formatted back to a digital signal and processes by the internal DAC of the Bathys. It's a solution that works if you aren't able to go straight digital cable...- Devodonaldson

Shanling M8 Android Portable player
I'm the second owner of a Sony WM-1Z from 2018. Only battery was replaced before I got it. It works great. You get a good device, take care of it and the battery, they can last a very long time. As far as Android DAPs go, people worry about the firmware becoming obsolete with apps. Should not be...- Devodonaldson

Not necessarily. I only listened with vegan pads, as I knew those were the pads I wanted. TC treble is still too hot for me. Great headphone, just can't listen for more than 2 or 3 songs 🤷- Devodonaldson

Diana: the second release by Abyss Headphones!
I had hours of demo time over 2 days at Canjam. The Diana TC has amazing sound characteristics, but I could not listen for longer than 15 minutes without getting a headache. It is a very detailed headphone, but the treble is just way too much for me. The Diana MR while less detailed, is a great...- Devodonaldson

SONY NW-ZX500
I used to carry mine with a 5000mah battery. Still smaller than your average FAP by itself. Battery life only short with Android apps though. If running your own library, easily pulling 10hrs or so out of this small DAP- Devodonaldson

I use MR with Sony WM-1Z, so you should have no issue getting adequate sound out of the Kann Ultra. Of course it can be pushed harder, but it still sounds fantastic out of lesser powered devices- Devodonaldson
