All pads change something, also no concensus has been reached on a "best" pad for your exact request as to many variables factor into an individuals perceived level of comfort. The most popular choices seem to be Dekoni, ZMF, Lawton, or Fostex angled pads. I personally liked the Voce pads from...

So I'm extremely disappointed to report a recent issue with my headphones & am hoping someone on here has a recommendation on what I can do. Today while picking up my TH900's off the provided stand one of the cups snapped off. I want to make it clear, I have never roughly handled these...

At the levels you described it shouldn't be too bad, but the cans do leak so if someone where seated at the same table as you they may get a decent listen to your music. I don't imagine it would be any worse than they guy or girl with Beats ,who cranks the volume to 90-100% on whatever device...

Husband accidentally sat on my spare TH900's, super impressed with the durability. Poor things had 200 lbs slammed down on em & not a scratch to be seen! Not sure if I'm just lucky, but I'd love to hear from other owners who may have had an accidental durability test as well.

I did a terrible job explaining my claims so I can understand these questions. I say the cable is borderline proprietary not because of the 1/4 end ,but because of the two pins that go directly into the headphone. They appear to be like the connections on Sennheiser 2 pin connectors ,but they...

Essentially identical, honestly you can get a used pair of Mk1's & get them cable modded later down the road to a more readily available connection type as the one Fostex is currently using is borderline proprietary & massive. If you've never heard a pair I strongly recommend a try before you...

For 1600? Not unless you love the Blue...You can find mint used Mk2's from 900-1100 used fairly often with some extras, or brand new in the same price range on certain occasions.

They aren't overly similar. The AKG have less bass, more forward mids, smaller soundstage, detailing is comparable & the highs are smoother with less "sparkle". The headphones also offer superior isolation & comparable comfort if that matters to you.

For bassheads? “Hip Hop” by Dead Prez "Prodrome" by Ken Ishii "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson "Enter the Sandman" by Metallica “In For The Kill” by La Roux (Skream Remix) "Roundabout" by Yes "Tyrannical" by Rotting Christ Different kinds of bass on this list, but you should be able to...

Every time I say I'm done with headphones the market throws another must try/buy at me... At least it's (arguably) less visually attractive, I imagine it being open it will have less bass but a better sound stage. If they can also remove the "harsh" highs people complain about it'll probably be...

I know this feeling, just got reintroduced with the TH900 & wonder why I ever let it go. I've been through more headphones & spent more money than I'd like to admit looking for a sound that really hit me. I'm thinking neutrality just isn't for me, my Eikons & Utopia are just collecting dust on...

I don't think anyone would recommend the TH900 for portable use but if you really want to & can't be dissuaded... Here you go: https://m.ebay.com/itm/3-5mm-Cable-for-Fostex-TH900-Mk2-TH610-UP-OCC-Silver-Plated-Copper-OPTIONS-/172921934152

Interesting little hiccup using the stock cable on my TH900 MK2, I seem to be getting a ridiculous amount of feedback when I feed these from my Audeze Deckard paired with my gaming PC. Swapped the cable out & the issue disappeared. Seems to only happen when the amp is connected to my PC & I use...

Guilty, honestly I'm not overly concerned about the movement, I only bring it up because of reading somewhere on here that the cup became loose enough to fall off completely. No idea how true that is or how loose it would need to be, but if it's an issue that was going to become progressively...

Hm, well my issue is involving this part for adjustment. Not this. From what I read on both adjument points they both had different but fairly common issues, but perhaps I was misinformed. My issue causes the cup to swing a little more on one side. It looks like this. I can't insert my...

So question for TH900 owners, I know the whole cup being slightly loose on one side & having slightly more movement is pretty common for the TH900 but is this an issue you feel is worth sending them back for a replacement over? My last set didn't have the issue & these aren't terrible or...

The TH900 is better in ever regard excluding the force of the raw bass impact. The Kannon are basically a VERY bassy M50X in terms of sound. The TH900 should provide a superior experience in almost every regard, but honestly I recommend trying to give them a listen before purchase. The TH900 are...

Exactly ? No, I don't think anything is tuned quite the way TH900's are. If you mean heavily V-shaped then yeah, tons, if you tell us exactly what you like & don't like about the TH900's it will be easier to recommend something. Based just on the sound signature maybe some Sony MDR-XB90EX ?

    Sennheiser HD820

These headphones just break my heart, I love the look & innovation involved ,but I honestly can't say I prefer them in any regard to my 800's or Eikons. I'd love to be able to spend a week or 2 with these & see if my opinion changes.

I ended up getting some MrSpeakers VOCE pads onto my coworkers th900's after back tracking through the thread for pad alternatives. I can honestly say these are some of the best (semi?) closed cans I've heard in awhile, definitely more fun then the Ether C Flows.

Are any of the aftermarket "upgrade" pads worth it? If I remember correctly when I briefly owned my first set most people found the stock to be best unless you where looking for an upgrade in comfort at the cost of sound ? I usually like to preserve my headphones resale value with a ZMF Pilot...
