Thanks Guys- AKG K81
I've been listening without foam and I believe I prefer it. Yeah, some nice punch goin on even with Immortal's Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism. Listened to Renaud Garcia-Fons' newest album and it was great to hear some of the nuances of his bow on the bass- great clarity and detail. Can't...- TechMetalMan

I'm also finding that the deep bass response is doing wonders for a lot of the shoddily recorded Black Metal that I listen to. On typical speakers I could not hear the bass drum any at all and drums in general sounded very distant. The bass response on these things are bringing the bass drum...- TechMetalMan

Music Similar to "Arch Enemy"?
I'd say check out Nevermore for sure. Also check out Symphony X's "The Odyssey"- not the same genre but I really think you'd like it- more progressive with some great arrangements yet retaining heaviness. Great stuff- check it out.- TechMetalMan

Thanks Guys- AKG K81
So I recieved my K81 DJ Phones today. I really like the look of them- perfect size for my head and ears. The do clamp well and isolate well- I can't even hear myself typing on the laptop. They are a but uncomfortable on my left ear but they will stretch out. I was weary of all the "flubbed...- TechMetalMan

Bad Albums by Good Artists, and the Head-Fi'ers who love them.
Sorry to resurrect an old thread but: Opeth- Deliverance. Often this is considered boring by Opeth fans. They often rave highly of Black Water Park. While BWP is enjoyable I like this one better, I don't know why. Dr. Dre- 2001. Many say that the original Chronic was better but I prefer...- TechMetalMan

What do you guys think? I will not be doing an iMod. Sorry- don't have the cash for that sort of thing. I've been a diehard discman guy for a long time as my friends have converted to dap's so I figure it's my turn (and I dont have to haul my large cd booklet around with me everywhere)...- TechMetalMan

One More Comparison Request- Sennheiser HD 25-SP vs AKG K81
So I read all this hype about the k81. I read about the boominess and flub in the bass as well. I have been searching around and I found the Sennheiser HD 25-SP. It looks to be a bit more balanced (although still boomy perhaps), still works with an IPOD, and looks durable/travel-ready. Are...- TechMetalMan

Phillips HP460 vs AKG K81 Dj- Any Opinions?
I've been considering the AKG's for a first time "real" headphone purchase. However I heard some rumours that the HP460's are quite similar but I haven't read any ear to ear reviews. The Hp460's are a bit less expensive so I am considering those now as well if they are just as good as the AKG's...- TechMetalMan
