Nokia N97 Sound Quality
I use my N97 to listen to podcasts and FM radio but not so often for music. The N97 does a good job for a phone that is also an MP3 player, but since I also have an iPod, the sound from the N97 is not comparable to the iPod. However, I enjoy my N97 everyday for it's web browser, email, and GPS...- fry_head_fi

MP3 Fm transmitter for the car?
I recommend the ccrane fmt. It's got very high quality circuitry (schematic is at fcc.gov). i enjoyed it so much I bought two. It's quite large though but I put it under the car seat so it's out of sight.- fry_head_fi

Head-Fi'ers Mobile Phone Choice
I had an E71 for a year. It's a fantastic phone, the web browser and email got some heavy usage. I actually loaded songs on it but I never found myself listening to music on it. I always opted for my iPod. I just upgraded to a N97 and I'm starting to leave my iPod at home. The 3.5mm jack is...- fry_head_fi

FM transmitter for iPod, suggestions?
I recommend the ccrane fm transmitter: http://www.ccrane.com/radios/fm-tran...ansmitter.aspx I tried several cheaper, tinyer transmitters, but they just don't do the job. The ccrane is the one I use now.- fry_head_fi

Apogee Mini Dac or...?
I have the Apogee MiniDAC with USB. I auditioned the Benchmark DAC1 and the MiniDAC. They're close contenders, but for me I prefer the MiniDAC. The DAC1 was impressive, but I found the MiniDAC more mellow sounding. And at the current price of $719 it's a great buy. I use the MiniDAC with my main...- fry_head_fi

Just heard the Micro DAC for the 1st time
I just auditioned the microDAC at the headfest. It definitely outperforms my Marantz CC4300. I would say it's similar to my old NAD's performance. It's not at the same level as the Apogee MiniDAC though. The Apogee is amazing but it's the next level of performance.- fry_head_fi
