I believe reading that the output impedance of the dac magic wasn't that low, so probably not ideal for your headphones

What about even other brand pads? I've heard of people putting on Audeze or HifiMan pads for comfort/sound.

It should be ok.  I was trying the Ether with a variety of sources at CanJam and they seemed pretty easy to drive.

I don't have a fixed budget but I would like to keep it under $1000 for a desktop setup. I was looking for a DAC as well since I'm sure my PC output isn't doing these headphones justice.

I just picked up a pair at Canjam (thanks Jason from the TheSource AV) What would be a good amp to pair this with? Currently using straight out of my PC right now I was looking at a tube amp,eg Valhalla but I've read tube amps may not be good for a low impedance set like these.
