I haven't heard iPhone 5 yet...maybe it's also pretty good Just spend some time to study the sound chips inside iPhones, I'm pretty sure people will tell you which one is better

5S sounds better than 7/8/9 IMHO. Sound quality got downgraded each time Apple upgraded their product lines under Cook's leadership for the cause of cost saving...no matter iPhone or Mac...now they even drop the headphone jacks...how stupid it is. Miss the Jobs days.

But personally I don't care about the display at all... I'd rather they could spend the display money on better CAPs or pots or PCBs...

I think LCD 2/2c is a side step from HD650

People often sell pretty new HD800S (from couple of months to 1 or 2 yrs) for around $1000 in the for sale sub-forum here

Forgot to mention, your DV336 can also drive HD800S, because it's a high Z headphone. But LCD on the other hand will need a new amp...tube amps normally won't drive low Z headphones well.

LCDs won't have the huge soundstage in HD800S

HD800S offers much more details, a firm upgrade from HD650

300B amps do work on both headphones and speakers. Sometimes you need some cables or adaptors to make it work.

Tube sound is much better than SS.

Where do you guys normally go to shop for HiFi gears in the U.S.?   BestBuy.com is definitely out of question, I can barely find a monitor speaker there. Say, if I want to buy a pair of Dynaudio speakers or a pair of HD800S, which website I should go?   Thanks.

Say, if the Amp part inside HDVD800 is up to the 1st class, then the Dac part is 2nd or 3rd class.

  Nothing wrong, just not so good that some people have to shop for a DAC somewhere else.
