A revisit on my cyclops stand in "poppy red". I don't paint in my projects often but after this I see room for more possibility in the future. I think this is perhaps more marketable than my more "natural" looking baltic birch version. I turn the waves on a lathe in the first two layers...

    New stand design that accounts for zero pressure to ear cushions and full support transferred to headband. Made of hard maple and black walnut.

The pressure is really only enough for it to stay in constant contact with the surface. If that would put wear on it I would imagine a human head would shred them to pieces. I am working on another type that will only make contact with the headband however.

The Baltic birch ply is much higher quality than the best quality plywood available at home depot(no voids and thick ply). I selected it to accent the concentric rings as well as keep the cost low for potential buyers. I do custom orders and it could be made of a hardwood but I would leave that...
