The pressure is really only enough for it to stay in constant contact with the surface. If that would put wear on it I would imagine a human head would shred them to pieces. I am working on another type that will only make contact with the headband however.- Coaster88

The Baltic birch ply is much higher quality than the best quality plywood available at home depot(no voids and thick ply). I selected it to accent the concentric rings as well as keep the cost low for potential buyers. I do custom orders and it could be made of a hardwood but I would leave that...- Coaster88
