LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
Would you be so kind to point to me to a working wireless charging system for V10? I just got one non-original back with the wireless inductive charger, as well as a wireless charger. Both from eBay, but not working good. It charges, but it takes for ages, and the back is not of the original LG...- chjan

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
That will be some time into the future, because the LG V20 at the moment is too expensive for my vallet. I got the lg V10 at a remarkably low price as locked (for a year) to a carrier. The LG V20 is not even available in Scandinavia. This is in fact "deeply worrying" and in particular when you...- chjan

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
Absolutely agree when it comes to the LG V10 as the best audiophile smartphone and, a true steal as a wireless DAC, even if only used as that. It's truly a prodigy; a LG masterpiece. I am going to try to convince a large retail chain in Norway to restart sales of this device if at all...- chjan

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
I am presently comparing LG V10 to a Marantz HD DAC1 which has been very much to my preference for more than a year now. I use that "headphone amplifier with built-in DAC" as a preamplifier. I may not yet announce a winner between the Marantz and the LG V10, because I have been to busy with...- chjan

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
Those familiar with the v20 knows more than me, but are you sure you heard or are hearing the V10 NOT switched to (1) the DAC that is built into the processor system, but switched to (2) the ESS SABRE 9018 HiFi DAC, fueling the 9602 headamp? (1) is said to be comparable to iPhone latest...- chjan

LG V10 : New ESS Chipped Flagship Android Phone from LG
The LG V10 is extremely loud when in "high Fidelity" mode. With a pair of Focal Elear (read reviews) it is impossible to play at max, it is too loud. However, the audio quality is true hifi. I have seen some reviewers concluding that LG V10 was the peak, and that V20 is a tiny step down from...- chjan

Best Smartphone for audiophile
I have changed the screen on LG G2 several times (due to my own clumsiness), and I observe therefore, that replacing the headphone out outlet is a very low cost & a few minutes only job. Anyone can do it. I see the same on LG V10. Study YT videos and loose respect for this problem.- chjan

I would like to suggest that this list of phones with dedicated audio ambition is escalated to "sticky" on Headfi and thus become a "flagship" thread. It will be good to put such focus out in the open as it could help to motivate vendors to start a war on "who has the best hifi audio in a...- chjan

Agree, but there can be design elements that woudl typically contribute to better sound, like jitter protection.- chjan

I have the latest of everything installed on the LG V10 h960 for Nordic countries, and the bug I described is still present, but it is possible on occasion to get the full volume on third party apps, by starting the native media player first. However, most of the time, and sooner rather than...- chjan

This is relevant. Would you please inform about your source for this information? It is correct that the phone will detect three different things automatically. It is autodiscovered, then displayed in the settings: 1. a low impedance headphone 2. a high impedance headphone (+50Ohm) 3...- chjan

Jimster480, very interesting. Would it be possible to produce a practical example on this sniper activity? I did notice the european model of lg v10 is h960, while the unlocked AT&T variant at $279 is the h960. Doesn't tell me much, but perhaps somebody else knows the actual difference....- chjan

Jimster480, I can inform you this thumbs down from your friends are not correct. LG V10 is very close to prodigy perfectness. After one day of listening to music, the phone is still on 40% battery remaining, and it is all the time totally cool and fast. No slow bloatware. Also there is...- chjan

LG V10 and subsequent LG models are clearly the best for audiophiles, due to the ESS Sabre built in DAC, or (again) subsequent quad DAC models. These deserve top notch headphones.- chjan

Chromecast audio - can anyone comment on sound quality?
Yes, the "global" casting will adopt whatever equalizing or other DSP you implement in your app. Problem solved, except that it should be added to the CC API an option to "system broadcast" when clicking on the CC button IN THE app actionbar. Why? Because it is indeed a cumbersome solution to be...- chjan

Marantz HD-DAC1
No, but I had the AH-MM400 for some months and I was a happy camper with that headphone. Then I replaced the Denon with the cheaper, but oh-so-much better sounding Philps Fidelio X2, a super companion to HD-DAC1. Try!- chjan
