The FiiO X3 2nd gen (ex X3K, X3II) Thread : 192K/24B, CS4398,Native DSD, USB DAC with LO and inline remote
• FiiO are very responsive to users requests, and will fix software and add features where they can And remove features without warning. • so their decision was probably a commercial one. I know. That's what I said. • Considering all the features they offer, and the maturity of...- ChinaBhoy

The FiiO X3 2nd gen (ex X3K, X3II) Thread : 192K/24B, CS4398,Native DSD, USB DAC with LO and inline remote
I have absolutely no wish to change anyone's mind. Staying at FW1.4 is not an option. With the removal of OTG and the inability to update in future, Fiio have effectively rendered my X3ii unsupported. No EOL notice, no warning and less than 6 months old. They should really offer a refund to...- ChinaBhoy

Dear Fiio, The USB OTG function (which was compatible with every USB device I ever used it with aside from obscure brands) was one of the main reasons I purchased the device from your main distributor on Taobao. I need lossless playback, OTG, DAC and Line Out daily in a professional capacity...- ChinaBhoy

Ah, I see. Many thanks for the prompt reply. I guess if I can flash back to 1.4FW then it's not so bad. I use my Fiio X3 professionally and OTG is an absolute must. Thanks again. :)- ChinaBhoy

The FiiO X3 2nd gen (ex X3K, X3II) Thread : 192K/24B, CS4398,Native DSD, USB DAC with LO and inline remote
Hi All, I have recently updated my Fiio X3ii to the latest firmware. Unfortunately, my OTG function now seems to be missing. It was working fine until I updated. Now when I go to 'BROWSE", I am no longer presented with the option to choose SD CARD or OTG - it just goes straight to the contents...- ChinaBhoy

Cool. Just checking. I think I made a mistake as I recalled the figures from memory. I believe anything over 48KHz and it doesn't work so it seems rather odd that you 'know' something that was incorrect. Anyway. I don't have any issues of this type on my device using M50x and a full 128G...- ChinaBhoy

You do know that the EQ doesn't work on sampling rates are higher than 44.1Khz (IIRC), right?- ChinaBhoy

Could you post a link (if it's allowed), to the tool for editing the firmware please. Many thanks, and apologies if linking isn't allowed. Also, the Dropbox link isn't working.- ChinaBhoy

Yeah, I know what you mean. Personally, I'd prefer a case which covers the TF slot. I get paranoid about pocket lint etc.. lol. I'm an expat living in China and can get some (imo) very nice cases for the X3, but as yet, not for the X3ii. Hope you find something.- ChinaBhoy

If by leather you mean the faux-leather Fiio case, then yeah, I guess some may find it mediocre. Personally, I like it. Perhaps the Dignis real leather case would be more to your liking. There are plenty on Amazon and e-bay to check out. Different colours too. :)- ChinaBhoy
