Since I am still at work, I have not been able to give them a good listen, but the first impressions are great. They fit perfect and sound very good, even from my iPhone. I can't really...- Jappie

A Little Disappointed with Shure
I have also had contact with Shure support regarding out-of-warranty E500's, which are now broken after 2,5 year with the well-known snapped cable issue. The reaction I got was "I'm afraid there are really no possibility to repair a broken cable of the earphone. The only thing is an exchange...- Jappie

Need an amp? - Minidisc line out?
I also have a Sony NW-HD5 and I am currently using it with an PA2V2 amp and Shure E4G's. For me, adding the amp (and using the line-out of the Sony) the sound definitively improved compared to the unamped sound. The diffences: - More bass, without the phones becoming too bass heavy - No more...- Jappie

Homemade Foam Ear Tips for IEMs
The stock foams from Shure are indeed PVC foamies. I agree with the findings of Derek, these polyurethane foams give more bass to the earphones. In my case, with the E4G's, that's a good thing, because they do not have a powerfull bass (the bass is good enough, just not very powerfull)...- Jappie

Homemade Foam Ear Tips for IEMs
Hey everybody, here is my first post on Head-Fi. I came across this topic while waiting for my Shure E4G's to arrive and I decided to make my own foamies too. Thank you all for great posts of different methods. I have to agree with Ace o' Spades, the holepunch works perfectly, especially for...- Jappie
