    Stax SR-007A earpad orientation

Stax SR-007 earpad can rotate freely, and the earpad has a straight taper on one side ("D”-shape). What is the standard orientation? What is your preference?

ELEGA DR-86CII 8ohm This DR-86CII is much more "monitor" than my DR-631. The clamping force is stronger and the shapes of their earpads are different. Really like the black-sliver colourway. A Japanese web site introduces some ELEGAs: http://newsmuda.blog72.fc2.com/blog-entry-1421.html?sp

Just playing my two Pioneer SE-300, they sound quite differently. The previous one is like a bass heavy version, this new one is more natural with better highs and details. Although the earpads are not in the same condition, I don't think it makes this huge difference. Very interesting...

It is still my favorite IEM, 2 broken and 2 still in service. Very good sound isolation, super dynamic, warm and musical, great for Basshead. Another 2 favorite IEMs. Stax SR-001 Sony MDR-EX800ST (still in production) I don't think many IEMs nowadays are worth the price...

Play with my Beyerdynaimc DT48 VarioCup these days, I agree with your comment "It (Elega DR-631) sounded like a fuller, wide, more detailed DT48". Comparing these two monitor legends, DT48 sounds a bit metallic...

T70 (250ohm) with EDT 1770 Velour Coolmax pads, is the best vocal "old" Tesla. It looks cool with DT1770 Pro headband.

For all Beyers, I prefer original earpads, except T70 (250ohm), pairing with EDT 1770 Velour Coolmax is much better.

Original pad sounds the best. The Beyerdynamic EDT 770S Softskin is one of the better alternatives.
