My DT880s are the Manufaktur model and the build quality is superb. The HE-400i phones are not as well made. Thats not saying they are poorly made, just that the costs went to technology instead of build materials. I have the DT880 Premium 600 ohm and I find the opposite. Though I kept both phones. I use the DT880's on a SoundBlaster Z and use the HE-400i on a Schiit Lyr. The HE-400i sounds better to me amped than the DT880's do. On a soundcard with EQ, it's a toss up.- Allthetoys
