Fostex x Massdrop TH-X00 Review
I just received my TH-X00 in Melbourne Australia today. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to give you any in depth or technical analysis here as I am a complete newcomer to the audio scene. I wouldn't classify myself as an audiophile as my goal isn't a strict pursuit of a flat response or a...- Jase0n

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions
So I just ran my DT880 250ohms directly through my Galaxy S6 edge and I am getting medium level sound; I then tried to see what would be the equivalent in terms of sound level on my PC running through my DACport slim and it takes maxing out the volume knob @ low gain - does that sound right?- Jase0n

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions
Quote: Interesting since I never had any difficulties with hearing and until this incident came up I considered myself having decent hearing. All my drivers including onboard sound are updated to their latest version and I've also tried rolling back and uninstalling/re-installing it . I...- Jase0n

Aune T1 USB Tube DAC+ SS Amp Discussion Thread ***See first post for FAQ--Updated on 02/14/15***
Can anyone comment regarding the durability/reliablity of the Aune T1? I've been seeing quite a few complains around the net regarding poor build quality with inputs becoming loose and failing over time etc; any truth to that or is it just misuse/abuse of the product? Cheers.- Jase0n

It does seem like fjrabon's pretty much covered it all doesn't it hence why I came to the conclusion that I did. Would've been amazing to come around to the meetup - I live in Australia so I probably won't be able to make it :p- Jase0n

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions
Yep I made sure that all volume is maxed out across the board on windows. Having reread your post you mentioned that 96 is about as loud as you'd wanna go with the DT880. Out of interest what did you get up to with the K7xx? If you are able to get up to 96 then I think it's just a matter of...- Jase0n

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions
Just tried the DT880s connected directly to the audio jack (I normally only use my bluetooth headphones) and i'd say the sound difference isn't hugely noticeable - it's definitely there and I am not able to reach high volumes, it taps out at the high side of medium listening volumes but the...- Jase0n

Again appreciate all the help fjrabon. I tried to run audio through a variety of software on the PC to ensure that it wasn't software related; I made sure that windows volume is on max settings and then ran it through youtube/nextflix on a variety of browsers, ran musicbee, ran soundcloud...- Jase0n

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions
Ye at this point I am a little lost for words. Ran the k7xxs which I remember trying out when I first got my grace and centrance dac/amps delivered and they sounded just as loud as the DT880s on both the m99x and the DACport meaning I can max them on both dac/amps and remain more than sane...- Jase0n

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions
Honestly it might have just been that I missed the reboot. I unplugged the cable from the back of the unit and could've easily missed the flicker expecting some sort of a full reboot only to later realise that the reboot is just a quick flicker of the digital led display. EDIT: Just...- Jase0n

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions
Really good advice and much appreciated. Just tried unplugging/replugging and an iPhone power plug and no changes, I will try a different cable tomorrow but it seems to me like it might be a combination of the headphone being on the demanding side and me being semi-death. Is it normal...- Jase0n

Just pulled it out and it didn't reboot! So how do I make sure I get into high power mode/state? Thanks for the help! EDIT: Just moved the power plug around and I seem to now be in high power mode (when I pull the USB cable from the back the m9xx restarts) yet it sounds the same.- Jase0n

I have the USB cable that's running from the 5V, 2A port to the power supply plugged in as the well as the USB that's connecting between the USB 2.0 port on the m9xx and the PC.- Jase0n

Grace Design x Massdrop m9XX DAC/Amp Review: First Impressions
Quick question to all the audio aficionados here - when I run my DT 880s (250ohm premiums) it seems like it requires cranking the m9xx all the way up to 99 to get adequate high volume; I didn't expect that I would need to max out this $499 dac/amp just to run my cans at listenable high volume...- Jase0n
