The ones I have are custom molded soft rubber earplugs as you described, & they are very comfy.

What I'm using is a custom sleeve / tip (see pic) which is interchangeable with the stock tips. Sound is more direct into the ears with no negative effect to me & most importantly it's much more comfortable to wear even for long period of time.

  Very interested in the comparison between Opus1 & DX80, pairing with SE846. I'm currently using DX80 with SE846 but the hiss is kind of bothering me.  Thinking about trying Opus1.

Went back to 1.1.4, not because of bugs, but SQ. It just sounds more intimate, vivid & comfortable, while 1.3.0 is kind of too forceful & punchy for me.

I lean towards 1.1.4, but I'll give more time to 1.3.0 to decide whether to go back to 1.1.4. Lock screen function is good but I can live without it. SQ comes first.

Comparing 1.1.4 & 1.3.0 (didn't stay with 1.2.0 due to SQ sounding too bright to me), latest FW sounds darker & cleaner, but details seem to be reduced slightly & treble less sparkle. Will spend more listening time to see which FW I like more.

  I'm using DX80 with SE846, & the pairing is good enough for me.  With the 3 filter choices of SE846, you have a bit more room to tune it to your liking.   About the hiss, I didn't notice it during demo probably because the environment wasn't quiet enough.  Once I noticed it, feels like the...

  I love my DX80 & 846, both bought not too long ago.  Guess I'll have to find a way to live with the hiss.

What is the criteria for DAP not to have hissing issue when pairing with 846 ?

      Try re-installing the FW (with factory resets before & after).  Seems to improve the lag for me.

Spent more time comparing 1.1.4 & 1.2.1. Found more noticeable hiss on 1.1.4 than 1.2.1. (Using SE846). Should hissing be related to hardware rather than software? I don't recall having that level of hiss when first updated to 1.1.4 back then. Really puzzled.

  Tried & I like the modded blue the best so far. Just wondering if anyone has tried taking out just 1 foam (I took 2 pieces of black foam out from each tube) ?  Will that lessen the brightness just a tad ?  I'm kind of afraid to try it 'cos my hands are far from steady.

updated 1.2.1, with several factory resets (via advanced menu & recovery mode) before & after, the backward, play & forward buttons (both solid buttons & on-screen) became sluggish.  took 2-3 seconds for it to respond.  factory reset the device 2 more times, the sluggishness was gone, but came...

  The procedures seem too complicated for me (I'm not good with PC). Does that even in recovery mode, factory reset & FW update are still not clean ?
