Enjoying the CDM with some nice little upgrades :) I would definitely recommend buying the Phillips 6021w, the sound is so much better than with the stock ones.

You need the c-media usb driver to play dsd64 on Mac, that’s the usb chipset’s limitation. The problem is that I can’t find the right one for modern macos :(

Some users reported that 3rd party lightning cables didn't work, I haven't tried myself as I was able to buy the lotoo one with a discount in pair with the s1 itself.

I love how the S1 plays with IMR Atens from both my iPhone and Mac, but I've been sick of losing one of two cables all the time. So I ended up with an ultimate solution :)

The new atens don’t change a lot in the sound signature, just some improvements here and there. I wouldn’t upgrade if the fit of the 1st gen is OK. And both sound so great with Lotoo s1.

Hey Guys A question about the battery life. Mine lives only 6 - 7 hours connected by USB with Fostex th-x00 headphones, I feel that it is much less than mini-m8 I also own. Plus you cannot charge it while listening :( Is it normal or too low battery life? Thanks. Andrii.

You should check mini-m8 out, it takes optical input and has balanced output as well as 3.5, plus some say that it sounds better than dacportable ( I did't hear dacportable so can't be sure here).

Hey Mr Goodman   Can you tell how is bluedac compared to mini-m8 soundwise? Already have mini-m8, great combo with my fostex th-x00, use it a lot wth playstation 4 through optical input (which obviously won't work with bluedac :) ), but the large charger kills me.   Thanks.

Yea, but changes described in your thread are a way more dramatic than mine :) I cannot hear difference between original vs modded using stock cable, I still have it with connectors, use it to connect to playstation 4 via centrance mini-m8.

Well, it's cheaper here in Ukraine :)

It costed me $100 for custom made OCC cable + $30 for all the work including connectors.
