Review by 'soundsculptor' on item 'Logitech UE 900s Ultimate Ears Noise-Isolating Earphones (NEWEST 2014 VERSION)'
Intro These are the kinds of IEMs that impress you when you see them, then sorely disappoint once you pick them up. All until you actually listen to them and are floored once again. Please note, this is an update/edit of the review and initial impressions I gave on Massdrop here. Aesthetics -...- soundsculptor

Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling
Thanks! I now have another question if any of you wonderful people care to help. So the person I purchased from was very courteous and quick and he sent me a bit of information about the tubes but I don't know what it means. He told me the following: 9.: 10,9 mA 28.: 10,8 mA Where...- soundsculptor

Reply to review by 'soundsculptor' on item 'Sennheiser HD 800 Headphones'
I would tend to agree, the HD800s are very precise headphones, built with an unbelievably great chassis, and are super comfortable to wear. But that's where my compliments stop. It doesn't really do what other headphones near or even below it's price point can do with similar, if not more detail.- soundsculptor

Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling
Thanks! I discovered the tube rolling guide and many other resources shortly after posting and found that the tubes I got were at a fairly reasonable price and were very highly rated, and so I pulled the trigger and got them (I think it's a set of 4) for the equlivalent of $11USD. Anyhow...- soundsculptor

Review by 'soundsculptor' on item 'KEF M500 Hi-Fi On-Ear Headphones, Aluminum/Black'
Initial impressions: Wow. These are some good-looking, simple, minimalist, headphones. They feel sturdy and light thanks to good choices in material and they've definitely turned some heads as I wear them around campus. Also, these are hands-down the most comfortable on-ear headphones in...- soundsculptor

Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling
Awesome, thanks. That is 40% of my question. If you know, would those tubes require me to change any settings on the amp to use them, and do you know if they're good tubes. Sorry if these are redundant questions, I'm super new to tube rolling. Thanks in advance!- soundsculptor

Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling
Hi guys, I've never tube-rolled before as the Little Dot i+ is my first tube amp. My question is, would these tubes work with my amp, sound good, and would I have to change the settings? My amp came with 6J1 tubes originally.- soundsculptor

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
That's fair though, after talking with Audeze they've informed me that the Open and Closed-back models have slightly different sound signatures. I've requested a graph for the closed back but unfortunately they didn't have any but they did tell me that the FR chart that can be found online is...- soundsculptor

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
Never once have I claimed that the LCD-2 is cheating or using warmth to cover up any technical difficulties. There have been a handful of LCD-2s that I've heard and they all tend to be incredibly detailed and resolving, though I find slightly less than the EL-8 Open and Closed. Though the...- soundsculptor

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
As I said, the LCD-2s have a warmer, easier sound. But I wouldn't say that they wreck the EL-8s as the EL-8s are a lot more detail oriented and analytical. Additionally, the EL-8s have somewhat recessed highs but nothing that can be easily remedied with a light equalization.- soundsculptor

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
I don't mean to cause a ruckus here, but I'm curious as to how the EL-8s compare in your varied opinions. Having listened to the LCD-2s, LCD-3s, and EL-8Cs, personally I find the EL-8Cs to be more analytical and detailed (closer to the LCD-X/LCD-XCs) whereas the LCD-2s provide a warmer and...- soundsculptor

Ottawa Region Meet 2016 - Sunday May 29th Greenboro Community Centre
I agree with this point. Though more and more may seem like better, there was a lot to gain from the more personal and intimate environment from the last one. Yes, more people could provide more discussion, more headphones, and more comparison, but too many people and it stops being a meet-up... -
Review by 'soundsculptor' on item 'Beyerdynamic DT 990 - 600 Ohm'
Initial impressions: When I first held these, they scared the pants off me. The cups wiggled a little bit and the yokes connecting the cups and the headband were attached in such a way that I felt if I were to move them wrong they'd just fall apart. After using them for a while I came to get...- soundsculptor

Ottawa Region Meet 2016 - Sunday May 29th Greenboro Community Centre
Sounds great! I hope we can all get motivated and start planning and getting things together early to allow for a greater event. I'm going to tentatively say that I'll be able to bring Audeze EL-8Cs, KEF M500s, and a Little Dot I+, and it depends on my situation but I intend to get new IEMs... -
The BEST-LOOKING Headphones
I would go on a limb here and say the Audeze EL-8s are one of the most aesthetically pleasing headphones. And I'd even say that in the world of on-ear/portable headphones, the KEF M500s are right up there too.- soundsculptor

The location was great and if wifi will be more accessible next time, I think we should get this room again and spend time over the next months to gather whatever resources and invite whatever vendors we can.- soundsculptor
