Eversolo DMP-A6 Network Streamer/DAC
Could someone let me know which firmware version has the GEQ/PEQ? My DMP-A6 currently runs v1.2.30. Can't find any EQ settings but the update function says that this is the newest firmware version. Maybe they are still rolling out the updates in regions or such?- NewEinstein

CustomArt FIBAE Impressions Thread
The outer ear are relatively similar. But the ear canal is significantly smaller on my right ear than on the left. Most likely ... put a foam tip on it and it will fit into most ears out there ;-) So happy about @piotrus-g and his team making these for me so that I finally have an IEM that fits- NewEinstein

CustomArt FIBAE Impressions Thread
Sorry ... *hides* This is why I went for a custom IEM after searching a universal IEM that fits my wierd ears for years ... and not finding one. currently listening to them. OK, I can not compare to a "normal" FIBAE2 but so far I am really happy with how they sound. Currently I am running them...- NewEinstein

I am kind of surprised that there is still no product page for the FIBAE series on the CustomArt webpage ... the FIBAE IEMs only exist in the shop so far- NewEinstein

Denon AH-7200
I have very good experiences with the RNHP amp for the older Foster cans (in my case mainly D5000) ... If the D7200 goes in a similar direction then this would be a prime choice.- NewEinstein

New custom IEM company - Custom Art: discussion, review, and impressions thread
I just got the news that my ear impressions arrived. Despite my very narrow ear canal they will try to make me an acrylic FIBAE2 ... now I just need to finalize the design and actually place the order Soon I will (hopefully) have the first IEMs that actually fit me =========== EDIT: Just...- NewEinstein

I actually prefer it that way ... I think a raw wood surface would be much to sensitive and would get scatched too easily much better to have a seamless hard acrylic surface- NewEinstein

I am also interested in wooden faceplates. Will they be "natural" or will they get a lacquer finish? How robust are the surfaces on wood faceplates? Will they easily get scratched? Thanks- NewEinstein

New custom IEM company - Custom Art: discussion, review, and impressions thread
I have just sent some photos of my ear impressions to Piotr. Lets hope that he comes back with positive news ... which would be that he can build CIEMs for my very narrow ear canals. I had just tested the small InEar StageDiver series ... but even with the small housing and the smallest tip...- NewEinstein

New Custom-to-Universal IEMs: InEar StageDiver 2/3
Today I made another trip to the Thomann store to listen to the different type in the StageDiver series ... and walked out with a pair of SD4s Due to my very narrow ear canals I can only use the smallest tips (XS) and even those are at the edge and apply more pressure than comfortable. So I...- NewEinstein

New Custom-to-Universal IEMs: InEar StageDiver 2/3
I will definitely listen myself before buying something this expensive. I have been reading a lot on these IEMs but text can only tell you that much ... but its still valuable input that can help with the decision. yeah ... thats is why I am already very happy that I can test in-ears at all ...- NewEinstein

New Custom-to-Universal IEMs: InEar StageDiver 2/3
Bringing this thread back up as I am interested in the StageDiver series. I am looking for a good in-ear headphone which I can easily take along when travelling. My problem is that I have small ears and very narrow ear canals. So all the "normal" in-ears dont fit for me. Either I cant even put...- NewEinstein

Sonoma Model One electrostatic headphone system
The Warwick electrostatic system used in the Sonoma system runs at different bias than typical electrostatic headphones. Hence the system right now as the headphones would not be compatible with other amps. It's a problem that comes with the new diaphragm technology.- NewEinstein

Sonoma Model One electrostatic headphone system
I can't compare it directly as my last time with Stax is a long time ago. But I would say it is definitely a different tuning. That makes it difficult for me to give it a better or worse label. I personally liked it a lot (and I liked it better than the last Stax system I heard)- NewEinstein

Denon AH-7200
I am quite disappointed to read that they don't have the U shaped tuning which I like so much on my D5000. There are plenty of flat headphones out there. It's nice to have a bit of character (and the old Denon style hours extremely well with electronic music) ... I think I will have to look into...- NewEinstein

Denon AH-7200
I hope that they keep the v shape. There are enough headphones who attempt to be flat and neutral. I prefer cans with some character. Looking into these as a possible replacement for my D5000. I really like their looks. Now I want to know how they compare to e.g. an E-MU Teak or my old Denon.- NewEinstein

Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
I guess that in studio environments (what this amp was designed for) it's normally left on all the time. So switching on/off what not such a priority during the design phase like for consumer electronic that is switched on/off multiple times per day.- NewEinstein

Rupert Neve Designs Announces The RNHP: Precision Headphone Amplifier
This is the reply from them when I asked them about a "swoosh" like sound you could hear in the cans when switching off: "ideally you should power up and down without headphones connected. That is likely the sound of the caps discharging. Its probably not going to hurt the cans, but its...- NewEinstein
