iFi audio Pro iDSD (Official) - NEW Firmware - MQA and more.
Yea the galvanic isolation can create a ground loop indirectly. Using Galvanic isolation in my case isolated my audio system from my pc ground creating a ground loop pop click dropout issue. The only way to solve it in my case was to add an earth ground after the galvanic isolation. I used the...- GHoldridge

Oh damn lucky you then good find. I had a similar situation with the ifi ican pro I saved money on a music direct demo unit, but eventually was replaced for a new one because of an issue. I keep looking for any “deals” on the idsd pro haven’t had much luck. I had thought about getting it off...- GHoldridge

DC iPurifier2 - In Pursuit of Silence
I'm not ifi but I think I remember an answer they gave to a similar question but it was about the original dc ipurifier it was that the ipower would always be better since it was built for a specific voltage and amps... I know the dc ipurifier 2 is improved but it's still built for a more...- GHoldridge

ifI iCan Pro - Impressions & Discussion
the new site was a shock to me when I opened it up I've been out of the loop for a bit I like it though looks very clean well put together and feels intuitive. I had a question about the ican pro does using the 3.5mm compared to the 6.3mm give you a greater chance of hitting over protection (red...- GHoldridge

DC iPurifier2 - In Pursuit of Silence
@iFi audio or anyone else who might know. The dc ipurifier 2 says its good to 24v at 3.5 amps, but would something that's 12v at 4a which is around 48w (i believe) still be fine since it's under the max spec of 84 watts? I'm not sure how beefed up the dc ipurfier is and I know some products have...- GHoldridge

iFi audio - Audiophile OTG Cable
Well, I'm not claiming anything about cables improving audio quality although it seems excepted in traditional analog audio that it does. All the talk about how a digital signal is not affected it's just 1's and 0's isn't exactly right. The digital signal going down isn't literally a copy from...- GHoldridge

Well it’s not uncommon for newly developed products to have faulty units. In my experience ifi audios customer service was great when I was dealing with an issue and made sure I was happy with the solution.- GHoldridge

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
I'll give it a shot.. although I did get the idea from a guy on here, in one of the lcd threads. Also apparently you can contact audeze and they will give you instructions. It's pretty straight forward though, you remove the 4 screws on the block inside where it holds the leather strap and metal...- GHoldridge

Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread
I just bought the upgraded steel headband for my lcd-2 and I ended up having to shorten the leather band a bit. The leather relaxed and was up against the steel on the backside and started to hurt a little bit although was still an improvement over the original. Maybe my heads not fat enough or...- GHoldridge

iFi Audio iOne official thread - There can be only one!
If someone’s was so inclined could you connect 2 iones together over Bluetooth? Use the 1st as a highend Bluetooth transmitter for a pc then a 2nd ione as the receiver connected to whatever. Since most stock Bluetooth solutions are hit or miss quality wise, like in a pc. Seems like the pc’s...- GHoldridge

Norne Audio (Was: Norse Audio): Feedback & Impression Thread
So I got my cable a little while back for my lcd-2f, but just getting around to showing it. It’s the new solv 2 cable and it has the copper/silver mix. I can’t really give any sound impressions compared to the stock cable other than being louder at the same volume only because it’s balanced vs...- GHoldridge

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio
Well just remember just because it has a 3 prong power dosnt mean it’s earth grounded. A lot of times the 3 prong is just neutral in a circuit. I don’t know if yours is designed like that or not.- GHoldridge

iFi Audio iGalvanic3.0 - The Holy Grail of Audio
No I don’t use the idefender why not use an ifi Irack I’ve seen some used or demo ones for sale The igalvanic does separate your systems earth ground into different halves. Usually the pc is what gives the earth ground before the iG3 might want make sure. Does any of the equipment after the iG3...- GHoldridge

I don’t believe they are using an op amp or even a discreet op amp. I seem to remember them referencing some classic pro audio gear that they modeled the circuit after.- GHoldridge

iFi AC iPurifier - Video Mini Series - The look, the tech, the lowdown. MORE ADDED!
Wow I don’t I feel dumb I tried to use it originally and thought it doesn't fit I know they use the same graph style in other products I thought I remember them explaining it. Also could the fact that the Entec wideband noise analyzer being a simple one might pick up more noise for some reason- GHoldridge
