    Sony MDR-Z7M2 Headphone Thread

Does Kimber really make that huge of a difference? It's around 50% of the price of the headphone and I'm very doubtful the cable could make any discernable difference. It looks so pretty that I'm very willing to be persuaded though...

    Sony NW-ZX300

Well, I haven't tested them with anything more powerful (my eyes are very much on the TA-ZH1ES though), but yes - I rarely go above 85 out of 120 volume wise.

This is endgame material right here: ZX300 balanced to Z7-M2. Audio nirvana.

This is the exact setup I'm running too and I agree it's a fantastic combination.

Insane deal. I paid $630 just for the cans and am considering the Kimber for $260.

Can't compare with the originals but they get very loud out of my ZX300 balanced. 90/120 is about as much as I can go with most stuff.

    Sony MDR-Z7M2 Headphone Thread

I haven't seen a direct comparison, but the consensus from those that have heard both seems to be that the M2 is less bass heavy but retains the other characteristics that made the original Z7 such a fun set of cans. I must say that I am loving mine.

    Sony MDR-Z7M2 Headphone Thread

It came free with the headphones, which was a nice surprise. It's an official Sony one - solid metal. Looks and feels great. I stuck them on my wife who listened on moderate volume and I could faintly hear what she was listening to, so probably not okay for somewhere like a library, but for an...

    Sony MDR-Z7M2 Headphone Thread

Just arrived. First impressions are superb. Soundstage is beautiful and expansive, especially for closed phones. Instrument positioning is outstanding. Bass is authoritative but not overbearing. I'm no audiophile, but my goodness this combination of ZX300 and MDR-Z7M2 is quite something. If you...

Just ordered a pair to go with my new ZX300. Should have them in hand tomorrow or Friday. Really looking forward to testing out the ZX300 in balanced.

    Sony NW-ZX300

Just ordered a ZX300 for $590 with a free set of WF-1000X. Good deal? Is this DAP sufficient to power the MDR-Z7? This is on my shopping list due to the deals that abound after the release of the M2 version.

If I can pick this up for $180 brand new, is that a good buy when compared with a Sony A45 for example?

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!

Wow, that's annoying. I'm going to go and check out the Sony Store in Seoul next week and am planning to buy if I like what I hear. They're pretty expensive here though at $265.

Sony WF-1000X discussion thread: Truly wireless IEM with Active Noise Cancelling!

Very interested in these. I'm considering ordering a pair over the weekend from Sony Korea, who say they have stock and next-day delivery. For anyone who has tried them: is the convenience of wireless worth the trade-off in terms of reduced audio quality? One assumes that these are a significant...

    Sony h.ear on MDR-100AAP - $199 'Hi-Res Audio' Over-Ear Headphones

The bluetooth variants are now shipping in Korea. They're priced at 400,000 won (about $350). Not bad - but the bundle they're offering is a much sweeter deal. The wireless 100AAP coupled with the A25 Walkman is shipped for $450. That's a steal. I paid the same for the wired version.

    Sony h.ear on MDR-100AAP - $199 'Hi-Res Audio' Over-Ear Headphones

Thanks so much for testing the track. Mine now isn't making the weird noise. I don't know what's up with it. I'm still going to take it in to Sony eventually but it's not an emergency. There isn't a Sony center in my city so it's a bit of a trek.    Nice cable BTW! The stock cable...

    Sony h.ear on MDR-100AAP - $199 'Hi-Res Audio' Over-Ear Headphones

Thanks for the suggestion.    I had a look at the driver and it appears to be secure. I called Sony on Friday and they said to bring it in to a service center and have them take a look at it. I'm worried that when they test it, it will not exhibit the strange noise it occasionally does with me...

    Sony h.ear on MDR-100AAP - $199 'Hi-Res Audio' Over-Ear Headphones

Has anyone experienced any bass rattle with their pair? The left cup on mine is rattling randomly at certain times. It's especially pronounced on Carole King's Tapestry album if anyone has it to test. 'You've got a friend' around 1:40 is a big tell-tale with mine. The thing is: it's random. At...

    SONY NWZ-A10 Series

I don't seen any reason why it wouldn't work. Just make sure that it isn't an EU version or a Japanese version. The EU version has a volume limiter, while the Japanese version cannot be changed to English. I have the Korean model, which I assume is the general 'international' version, and it...
