I only tried it for a few seconds but they sounded awful in my setup. I usually just use my HD595's straight from my MBP and it sounds fine to me. With the T-Amp the bass was distorted and it just wasn't a good experience.

If you're just getting into some DIY work go for something on ebay. Anything by Fluke is excellent. I got a Fluke 27 for $50 which new costs about $300.
