Custom Edition Darkvoice THA336FM arrived [56K warning]

So what level of experince would you suggest someone have with tinkering with electronics if they were thinking about attempting the mods you made? Advanced? Novice? Could someone without years of tinkering experience do it or would they just be headed for disaster?

    DarkVoice 336 vs. LDII+

Also, what's everyone's opinions of some of the other amps coming from the same area as the darkvoice like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/6AS7-6080-SET-Cl...QQcmdZViewItem This one builds on my last post about number of tubes...this has three to the darkvoice's two. If you have any...

    DarkVoice 336 vs. LDII+

Another newbie question for anyone.... What effect does the number of tubes in the different stages have on the eventual output? Does it improve sound quality at all? Does it just increase the power output so it can be a pre-amp or power more high-end cans? I see models with 2, 3 and 4 tubs...

    DarkVoice 336 vs. LDII+

I have a question and maybe I just don't know enough yet...I'm still learning this all right now. I noticed that the frequency response range for the darkvoice 336 is 10Hz~20kHz whereas when I look around at other amps and headphones (including my own sennheiser 555's) the range is much wider...

Best tube amp for Senn 500 series around/under $300

So does the amp look the same after the mods or are there case mods as well in that process? One thing I don't like consemtically about that amp is that the tubes are hidden inside. Part of the fun of a tube amp I think is seeing the glowing tubes when it's on.

    HD 555 and a Amp?

I've got some 555s myslef and am also looking for an amp. jimmyjames you mentioned that any amp with warmth would do well for these. Do you just mean a tube amp in general or one of the more warm sounding tube amps? If so have you tried out the Ming DA MC 66AE? A lot of the reviews on here make...

Wow so much great info on this site! I'm a first-time headphone amp buyer and I'm having a tough time deciding between all the many options out there. I'm very interested in trying a tube amp and need to keep my budget around $300-325 or less. Any suggestions on specific amps and/or...
