Audio Grade Fuses
It’s very subjective of course but I would say approx. 60/40 in favour of the Fuse. Particularly on dynamics, separation and clarity. What the cable and connectors seem to add is further improved noise floor and authentic timbre/tone. -
Audio Grade Fuses
I did read that, Subdusted, though some have since commented that, for them, it has been worth adding the second Master Fuse. I have used mine to focus on my Sigmas and Power Amp. The Purple Fuses still individually cover my Streamer, M Scaler and DAC. It has worked very well for me. -

I think that's a good question Lvivske and I would also be interested in such a test. This recent test from Alpha Lab is something on similar lines, where 3 power conditioners are tested and they clearly affect the noise floor to a greater and lesser degree. I thought it interesting that the... -

Just in case anyone here has wondered about crazy prIced fuses, I have posted my review of the Synergistic Research Master Fuse and Furutech 4.1 Power Cable: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/audio-grade-fuses.419939/page-49- DaveRedRef-III

Audio Grade Fuses
Synergistic Research Master Fuse with 1.5 metre Furutech DPS-4.1 Limited Edition Power Cable and FI-1363 NCF Rhodium and FI-52 NCF Rhodium plugs. (96hrs burn-in) SETUP: I first connected my Isotek Syncro power cable from the wall to my Isotek V5 Titan conditioner and then added the new Furutech... -

Just read a review of the ‘Ultima Pre 3’ (linked below). It was intriguing to read the comparison with the Dave DAC internal Pre “If you’re a Chord DAVE user and you’re undecided between the Ultima 6 or 5 power amp, please don’t skip the preamp. I’m dead serious! As good as DAVE’s volume...- DaveRedRef-III

No. They affect room nodes and my experience is, if I move them closer or further from the source of the sound they seem to provide a point of reflection at the distance frequency, thus having a small affect on natural room reflections that are cancelling the power of certain frequencies in your...- DaveRedRef-III

I also think one of the biggest enemies of Hifi reproduction is the frequency inconsistencies brought about by room affects on each speaker. I find Synergistic research HFT's useful in this respect. Room nodes and frequency cancelling can be mitigated to a point via the use of HFT's. Sometimes...- DaveRedRef-III

GR, I like to have some extra bass but I also like accurate instrument timbre. To me it affects musicality.- DaveRedRef-III

I would find a 5 band fully parametric eq very helpful for room correction. I continually try to improve my room and I find passive room correction incredibly helpful but it has its limits. The closer I get to a flat response 'in room' between 250hz and 10khz the better I find the instrument...- DaveRedRef-III

I will order the new Choral M Scaler immediately upon release, (if the price is fair by my own expectations). I have no concerns on whether the new unit will deliver. I have bought enough Chord products over the last 20 (plus) years to trust Rob's ears and his (and John's) professional integrity.- DaveRedRef-III

I understand personal requirements in a commercial marketplace, but let’s face it, this new product is going to be SotA and ‘SotA and cheap as chips’, are not part of commercial reality. Add to that, a product release in the ‘Choral’ range needs to fit aesthetically with other products in the...- DaveRedRef-III

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
Hi Reactcore, I am not finding any signs of a ground loop. No hum or buzz in my speakers. The musical performance is undoubtably better to my ears. Smoother, greater bass freedom and punch, sounds like a lower noise floor too which is providing greater separation. I would be interested to hear...- DaveRedRef-III

I would also recommend to try earthing the Dave too, particularly if you use XLR. That will need specific connectors. For instance RCA connectors. I do both rca channels while using XLR for my audio. Tbh, if you get a block, earth everything you can imo.- DaveRedRef-III

For the DC4, that’s what I did. They included some 8ft cheap earth leads with the block. I cut one in half and attached the cut end to the DC4. Worked a treat. Why did I cut it in half? Because earthing will always take the shortest route.- DaveRedRef-III

It does come with some yes. Mine did at least. Though I did buy some expensive ones with specialist connectors too. The DC4 is linked with a cheap one though.- DaveRedRef-III

Like many here, I have a Sean Jacobs DC4 attached to my Dave DAC and I have been very happy with the upgrade, from a couple of years back. Right from the start, I hooked it up to my Synergistic Research Earthing block via a 4ft earthing cable. This morning I happened to disconnect that...- DaveRedRef-III

I wonder, would any of you guys wish to make an educated guess as to the likely launch times for Choral M Scaler, Ultima DAC and Rob's Digital amps? .....assuming they do eventually make it to market, of course. I would likely be an immediate buyer of at least 2 of the 3 products. (The Ultima...- DaveRedRef-III

Hi guys, great to see this thread is still alive and kicking. I have had my Dave since November 2015. This was the internal fuse on the Innuos product TU. I am confident if you tried an SR purple fuse in your Innuos product you would notice a difference even before it is run-in. Hi Rob Regarding your work on ADC's, are there any aspects of the improvements you have achieved with Davina which could be reverse engineered into a DAC to 'correct' failings of past ADC's in our existing recordings? EDIT: Said DAC when I meant ADC- DaveRedRef-III

To me this new product characteristic looks like a metal 'milled' product. Others have mentioned new M Scaler. Could well be a new M Scaler minus the Blu MKII CD player? https://chordelectronics.co.uk/coming-soon- DaveRedRef-III

CHORD ELECTRONICS DAVE
I know many here use Innuos products to feed their Dave and/or M Scaler as I do. Others may have stuck with a PC/Laptop server perhaps for the convenience of using a parametric EQ to adjust for their room character. I have just written a request to Innuos (via their forum) for a Parametric EQ...- DaveRedRef-III
