Flat sounding headphones that don't need an amp, budget :200$
Forget the DT880 (spiky higs, bit recessed mids) and get the DT250 if you want absolute flat with a nice tight punchy bass.- Alizz

It's got to stop!
What is ''better'' in your opinion? You know at some point we have reached the maximum audio quality possible and it's all subjective beyond that.- Alizz

HD800 vs. HD800S for Mixing&monitoring
HD800 is way better for mixing than the muffled/veiled HD600! I can also recommened the older HD540 Reference been having great mixing results with them adn they don't cost that much.- Alizz

Bigger soundstage = more detail
Bigger soundstage = more detail.. I came to this conclsuion ''if there's more room for sound to play around, you can hear more of it.'' Can we all agree on this? I mean it's by no accident that the ''detail king'' HD800 at the same time have the biggest soundstage of all..? What's your...- Alizz

Looking for a mixing/mastering and listening Planar or dynamic headphone for 500 and below
Don't get the DT880! I've had the DT770, DT880, DT990 (all pro), DT150 & DT250. The DT250 is flattest Beyerdynamic off those (and even ever made I think, more than the T1!). The DT880 are too harsh in the highs, your snaredrums, synths etc will translate very wrong trust me I've had this...- Alizz
