    Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7

I tried to get replacement pads. I spent about two hours contacting Sony customer service who then referred me to their three "partners".  Sony now relies on these other companies who are suppose to be supplying the spare parts to Sony electronics. None of them have these earpads for the Z7...

    Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7

Well, I went to Sony's website to look up their phone number and noticed that they are open today. So I called and there is a recording saying the Sony store no longer sells directly and to go to Sony.com for the "new Sony experience". Well that "Sony experience" wasn't much. I finally ended up...

    Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7

Thank you for the info. Yeah, I'm talking about factory pads. I'll call Sony Monday to see if I can buy me a pair. The ones I have are fine but I want a reserve pair.

    Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7

Are there any replacement pads for the Z7. I did a search in this thread and didn't see anyone giving specifics about where to get some. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, guys.

Those headphones look awesome, David. With my complete lack of do-it-yourself skills, I wouldn't even know where to begin to do something like that.

The 560 is fantastic. But after reading about a couple others having gotten the rattle, I decided to go with the T1 and their 5 year warranty instead of trying to get another 560. I like Beyer's sound signature a lot. Both 560 and T1 are the finest sounding headphones I've ever listened.

I heard a rattle on my 560's right side with bass type songs. Yep, the plastic(I think it's plastic) ring around the metal grille is definitely not fixed tight in place and is actually loose.  I can actually lightly tap on it with my finger and make it rattle.    I returned it.   I'll keep...

I have the Magni2 Uber/Modi2 Uber stack and I think they sound fantastic with all my headphones which includes the 400i and the HE--560.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I bought a three year extended warranty from Squaretrade for $22 through Amazon.

Thanks, I did not know that. I don't notice any static electricity on the plastic when I touch it or on the headphones. Hmmmm.

Yeah , I think you're definitely making the right choice to return them. It's painful to have to wait.

I posted the following post int the HE-560 thread just in case anyone is interested in this simple way to keep dust off of  your headphones as they sit on the stand:   Originally Posted by rwscpa    For those concerned about dust getting in or on your headphones while they are not being used...

For those concerned about dust getting in or on your headphones while they are not being used and sitting on their stand, I bought some of these 13"X13" bubble pouches from Amazon to slip over my headphones as they rest on their headphone stand. They slip over both the headphone and the stand...

Email them back and ask if they will ship you out the cable right away once you provide them your tracking number so that you don't have to wait so long. Also let them know you are a member of Head-fi.

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

When I bought my 400i during Black Friday, my cable was messed up and I contacted the dealer I bought them from. He had Hifiman send me another cable and told me to keep the bad one. The bad one works fine but the problem was the little plastic tube sleeve with the letter "R" on it wasn't glued...

Thank you, guys, for your response. I'll get the adapter so that I have the original cable just in case I want to some day sell them, which I doubt that would ever happen. What awesome headphones.

I contacted Hifiman customer service to find out if they have a 3.5mm adapter for the 6.3mm(1/4") plug that came with my 560's cable. As those who own the headphone know, the stock 560 cable plug is 1/4" only. This is unlike the cable that came with my 400i which has a 3.5mm plug and a 1/4"...

OK, after listening to both the 560 and 400i side by side (Rock, Classical, Pop,) there is definitely a difference between them.   It  seems to me to be much easier to locate the individual instruments during a song and to place them on stage with the 560. The 560 seems to have a little more...

Thank you.   I will compare them and post my impressions of how they compare or differ to one another. I'm not very good yet at describing what I'm hearing so I'll apologize in advance for my lack of being able to put audio sounds into hifi language.

I just received my HE-560 yesterday. I ordered them through Amazon (fulfilled by Amazon) three days ago from an authorized Hifiman dealer who was still selling them for the $699 Black Friday sale price. There were a couple other dealers at Amazon also selling the headphones for a few dollars...

    Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion

This is exactly how I listen to mine with my laptop and E12.  I too noticed quite a difference between my Macbook Air amp and my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 amp. The laptop sounds better to me and there's distortion through the phone at times.   The 400i is such a good headphone for me. I really...

Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread

Thank you for responding PixelSquish. Yeah, I'm fairly new to this headphone hobby...and love it.... But I'm not very experienced with all the different nuances of sounds that headphones can make. But, like you said, if my other headphones aren't making that sound, I don't think it's right...

    *Official Schiit Magni/Modi 2 ( Uber ) Thread*

I just got my Mag 2 and Mod 2 Ubers last night and I set them up this morning. I've only had about an hour listening to Spotify and iTunes(192 to 303 bit rate on iTunes) with them. I was alternating between my three headphones(MDR-Z7, DT880 600ohm, and HFM 400i) and all three sound fantastic. I...

Please help me understand DAC DAP and AMP, and recommendation

To update.   After hours of reading reviews here at Headfi, I ordered two pieces of Schiit(that's too funny) last night. Modi 2 Uber, Magni 2 Uber , and some cables.  I already have a tracking number this morning.    Thanks for all your help, fellow Headfiers..
