Oh never tried on youtube, but on foobar with exclusive mode, before update, there was always a second of gap when starting music, so the music would start at 00.01 second, this happened too when skip/forward to next one. After the new update, the silence gap is gone.

@64Audio may i give a suggestion? Can add fit/comfort to the list, because it is one of the most important factor for me in choosing an iem.

Mine was like that too, turned out i needed to unplug the usb and re plug it again, the ka17 will update and everything is well when its done.

new firmware installed smoothly. the pause/gap when starting music, is 99% gone or at least not noticeable anymore. namely on foobar2000 ka17 exclusive mode. good job Fiio!

For headphones i think Q15 would be better. I have both q15 and ka17, in my use case for iems, both perform well above their prices, and yet i think the q15 and ka17 sounds different. The q15 sounds lusher, warmer, and musical, its addicting to hear music thru it. While the ka17 sounds neutral...

i'd say go for it! with the typical discount for the M17 nowadays. it's a bargain for the specs and the quality of the thing. just as long as you don't plan to use it as a fully portable(it's a bit huge to carry around), as a desktop transportable unit, the m17 is really excellent for it's SRP...

mine on desktop mode(plugged in on DC), even on low gain has the high temperature warning if the DAP is not placed on the cooling stand. used aida64 to check the batt temperature and it is usually 41-43C with cooling fan/stand. while without the fan it can go up to 48-49C with battery...

fourte has better resolution, W sig sound, the vocal is more forward and clearer with very noticable higher degree of details, textures, etc.. the soundstage is bigger on fourte, but volur is quite close in this regard. volur has a mild U shape sound, and the bass on volur superb. it is that...

Fourte OG is my favourite too. I told myself the volur would be my last purchase, yet last night the u4s came in and it is immensily enjoyable. Guess there is no such thing as 'this is the last one' in this hobby. Loll

I am also constanltly wowed by the bass on volur. Its not just excellently just right in quantity but also the cleanliness and quality to it.

Another suggestion if i may @FiiO I have both m17 and m15s, it would be great to add a 'DC in' active status icon on the status bar row where the batt level etc are located.. So when the DC mode is on, we can directly know it from the status bar. And when its not, we can also know it easily...

I think the volur is really excellent for drum n bass, or any electronic music.. I dont find its high / treble strange or anything like that. I use m17 and put it on random for the whole sd card music offline. So far i find volur excels in everthing. And just now it was playing roni size's track...

i have m11s and it is for sure, has a better SOC and very good OS. sound quality wise, it's nice.. no idea how it compares to dx170 though
