Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

Months as far as I can remember, I did it some time back. It is very interesting especially challenging when you get deeper into the test.

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

He does not have a problem, in fact he is a man that is going to save a lot of money as he will not have to spend the ridiculous amount of money the rest of us have  to spend to get what we want.   For the people liking a challenge, if you have not tried the Phillips Golden Ears challenge go...

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

Yes we will have to agree to disagree. I do have a few friends that have the LP12's and one of them does have the Naim Aro arm on it. One thing though the Xerxes is easier to keep in tip top condition, yes it did have the suspect plinth issues all now fixed. The LP12 needs constant attention to...

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

Don’t want to de-rail this thread but have to disagree with your comment on the LP12, it so overrated. It may have been good in the 70’s but the Roksan Xerxes came out in the 80’s and killed it. So many more better turntables out their now.   I use an Acoustic Solid One to One turntable...

That is what I think whenever people complain about something being too expensive.

    Lyra Phono Cartridges

It’s amazing how much they jack the prices up, you guys in America are lucky you should come and live in the UK.   The Lyra’s are lovely cartridges.   I use the Roksan Shiraz and the price has just jumped up to £3950 that is up by £1250, not funny.

If that is Keith Johnson of Spectral Audio I can well believe his amazing work, you should try Spectral Audio home system and you will be amazed. Once you have a Spectral Audio’s home CD / Pre / Power amps nothing else will do, I am lucky to have Spectral Audio at home.

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

I think I would like to listen to it first before I call it a good price, anyone remember Ultrasone Edition 10?  Need I say anymore?

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

Okay I see what you mean, I have never tried Shure IEM so not sure what to expect.   It’s like a lot of people love Grado sound which I can not stand but then I tried a PS500, liked it as it does not sound like a Grado (still would not by one). I would say it’s a Grado for non Grado fans...

Hey Lornecherry, have you tried Comply Foam tips? They are very very comfortable, not too far behind customs.   www.complyfoam.com

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

You have not heard it yet, so you cannot say there are better out there. I will be reserving judgement till I have had a chance to listen to it.   The battery life of about 10 hours is not that bad, for me I would have loved it if it uses AA’s.  I am used to carrying spare Sanyo Eneloop AA’s...

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

Ha ha thanks for the link.   Just had a look at your other link about CIEM Vs UIEM, I have to admit I love my Etymotic ER-4s more now after discovering Comply Foam. They are comfortable and provide great isolation, the only thing I have left in custom are custom ear plugs.                ...

I have an Omega Seamaster and have never heard of the Vostok Amphibia before, but I am liking the idea of this Russian made watch. Cool.

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

If they don’t price it accordingly I think plenty of people will pick them up in America or elsewhere cheaper than UK.   I remember years ago when I used NuForce amps, I just pick them up while in New York for work saved myself £1000 on the UK price.

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

I don’t think you can compare this Shure to an HE-1000, for me they are for different markets.   For me I only use headphones on the move, never at home. An HE-1000 is not a great headphones to use on the move due to no isolation etc.

Shure KSE1500 Review - Shure KSE1500 Sound Isolating Electrostatic Earphones

I will have to give these a try, I use to have the Stax SR-002MKII portable and loved them. The Stax where unreliable, I finally gave up after I went through 4 sets.   The Shure would appeal to me more if they did one without the DAC, I use analogue setup hence no need for a DAC. I do hope...
