Hi, I just got a LCD-X and I am looking for an amp around $200-$300 for it. I was thinking of an THX 789 but I heard some people say there are some metallic treble. I am pretty open to most things and looking for a amp with some good synergy.

I am interested to get a sennheiser wireless headphone. In particular the rs 180 and hdr 185. I will more than likely be using the wireless headphones around my school. So may I ask what is the use of the base and can I just buy the hdr 185 and forgo the base/charging dock?
