Cayin N5 DAP - Product Info (Post #2), Resources (Post #3) and Discussion

N5 does not support USB audio (and does not support OTG). 1) Coaxial out is the only way to use N5 as a digital transport. 2) It can be used as DAC via line out. 3) USB DAC for computers. AFAIK that is all available options. PS USB mode / DAC mode is for connection to computers only. USB mode...

Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP

Since it is brand new release, there is just a few men who'd heard it, so most of us rely on other people feedbacks, Some of them, sharing their impressions on JD and tao, describe SQ as "warm and thick". What do you think about this statement? PS Can't wait for your review. Please make it soon :)

Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP

Andykong 1) Is it possible to cross-flash units for different markets? I mean flash international firmware with Chinese market unit and vice-versa? 2) Is firmware downgrade available for N6II?

Cayin N5 DAP - Product Info (Post #2), Resources (Post #3) and Discussion

Periodic Audio Be is very good choice as well, congrats! The only thing with no recabling of Be there is no way to try N5's 2.5" BL which is considerably better then 3.5 SE.

In Album section you can mark any album you need and add all marked albums to your playlist. Besides, you can create a new playlist directly at R3, no PC is needed. At least this feature is available at last 1.12 CN firmware, if global FW does not let do it, next update will come soon.

Indeed, LDAC is implemented in last 1.12 firmware for Chinese version of R3. Have no idea if this really works though, no way to check at the moment.

Cayin N5 DAP - Product Info (Post #2), Resources (Post #3) and Discussion

Never had CA, but i am 99.99% positive Andromeda would have hissing issues with N5. PS If you have a chance, try Dunu Falcon-C, it matches pretty well, 2,5 especially.

Your words was the main reason for me to buy R3 at jd pre-sale, You personally have guaranteed there will not be any restriction for re-flashing device. And now you are saying this? I am extremely disappointed.

It is still in the process apparently. Someone assures me that Tidal is already implemented in 1.03 and 1.07 firmware, it is just hidden. So being just a regular user i do not see it.

    Gustard Amplifiers and DACs

AFAIK there is no such. If you need to see their products, just check Gustard's official store at taobao.

The last part just means "if (i) still find the sound not good for listening, (i) still can connect to mojo and be happy. Chinese language is quite complicated, google translate is still not capable to process it properly.

HIBY R6 - DAP Dual DAC Balanced Out - Great Reviews and Over 500% Funded @ Indiegogo!

Just curious. There is no R6 firmware freely distributed in the web. How can you be so sure it really was international firmware version, not default chinese one + installed Google services?

Joe Bloggs Dear Joe, could you please tell how to use DLNA at R3? With Hiby Music and android smartphone it is quite easy to use, but with R3 this function not that obvious, at least with current firmware. Besides DLNA checkbox there is no any other signs of DLNA. Was DLNA properly implemented...

From my personal experience it is hard to get a proper impression about sound device on basis of jd or taobao/tmall comments. The thing is comments there are part of a deal and user status. Standard procedure is to buy something, confirm a deal, leave a comment, get a badge. This is why a lot of...

I just compare with what i usually heard from Cayin N5 with 3,5" 200mw and 300mw of balanced output. Even in that case there is big difference between SE and BO. Besides, some DAPs just do not fit well. For example, i didn't like how P1 sings with Cayin 5II.

Well, there could be a chance: 1) My preferable sound sig is a different one, years with Cayin N5 made a deep trace in my predilections; 2) Dunu Falcon C pairs with R3 not really good; 3) My device still needs burn-in; 4) My brain still needs burn-in; 5) Expectations were too high; 6) Something...

The New HIBY R3 II is here. 4.4MM Jack; Improved Sound and Bluetooth.

It is well know that P1 is hungry to power and R3 simply just does not have that much even with BO. So P1 sounds very poor and flat, with no highs, no lows, just loud peaks of mids - there is no that beauty and magic what P1 is appreciated for. It is just a bad match imo, that's it.

According to one of those comments there is no any noise from phone output, so you probably wouldn't be worried about low impedance/high sensitivity compatibility.

Yes, it can and it does. I am not sure about storage drive, since i do not have suitable one at this moment, as for playing music from flash drive it goes fine. Please notice it is USB-C output in R3, so flash drive must also be with USB-C, otherwise connection requires additional OTG adapters...
