    Topping G5

I have the dt990 pros too, just too lazy to type the last bit. I have a Topping L30ii and a marantz pm6006 and the hour I spent with the beyers & the G5 last night was by a good margin the most enjoyable and relaxing listening session I've had in years. It's an astonishing little box of tricks...

    Topping G5

Thank you but I figured it out (see above). Currently just basking in the sonic majesty of Random Access Memories through the G5 into DT990's (I am old, so treble cannons don't frighten me). I don't think I've ever heard better.

    Topping G5

True. And after 30 mins listening it's clear that my Fiio M11 pro is now completely redundant. This thing is pretty astonishing.

Yeah, turns out I'm the lemon. It simply wasn't charged. Now it's charged all these 250 ohm cans are sounding, well, probably better than they ever have...

    Topping G5

I'll check them with my hd650's later. I think the guy I bought it off *might* sell returns and there's nothing on the listing to suggest they have tested it. Could just be a lemon.

    Topping G5

That's helpful thanks. Just checked it with my M11 Pro into the G5 and the Fiio is considerably louder on its own into the 250 ohm cans than routing it through the g5. Bizarre. Trying to figure out if I've made some sort of bonehead error here before hitting 'return as faulty'.

    Topping G5

Quick query. Just got a G5 from Ebay 2nd hand. Connecting it to my android with the supplied usb cable, with both beyerdynamic dt770 250ohm and dt990 250ohm on *high gain* and full volume on the g5 the sound in the cans is barely loud enough to be listenable and not remotely loud. Is this unit...

Hiby R3 Pro Portable Bluetooth DAP

Just picked one of these up 2nd hand and it's running the latest firmware now since I just let it update. Audio via Bluetooth, unfortunately, seems to be extremely prone to signal loss to the point where it just seems to be basically broken. I gather (now!) that this is fairly well known. Does...

    FiiO M11Pro | Dual AK4497 | THX AAA 78 Headpone Amp | 5.15" 18:9 720P | Exynos 7872 | 3G Ram+64G Rom |

Just got one of these. Already have a X7ii with Am3d and an M11. This thing just blows both of them out of the water. Ludicrously good. I suppose the drawback for me is that listening on every other device now I now know how much better music can sound. Just been A-B-ing Sufjan Steven's...

    FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out

I have the AM3D, use it on the X7ii and highly recommended it. I think sound quality plus intangible enjoyment factors mean I use it more than my M11. I haven't been tempted to put the AM3A back that's for sure (though it's certainly a good amp by any standards). I've just bought an M11 Pro so...

Thank you. I'm pretty sure I've done a reset but I think perhaps another one may be due.

    FiiO X7 Mk II 2GB RAM + 64GB ROM + ESS9028 PRO + Balanced + DSD + BT 4.1 aptX + Dual mSD + Dual Band WiFi + Opt Out

Sometimes when I'm looking at tracks in a folder on the X7ii and I touch the screen to start the track it doesn't happen - pressing again can lead to being taken to the now playing bit of the Fiio player app but it still doesn't play and only pressing the play triangle will get the track going...

    FiiO X7 | DXD | DSD | 384K/64B | ESS9018+ Android | WiFi | Bluetooth | 4 AMP modules | Balanced Out |

I've had an X7ii and have an M11 and the X7 (at least with the AM3D) just gives pretty much nothing away to them that I can hear, anyway. I've very glad I traded up for it when one came up crazy cheap on Ebay. The M9 I replaced with the X7 just seemed a bit wan alongside the M11 but that's...

    FiiO X7 | DXD | DSD | 384K/64B | ESS9018+ Android | WiFi | Bluetooth | 4 AMP modules | Balanced Out |

I've recently picked up an X7 to use as a 'walking around dap' after feeling a bit disappointed by the SQ of the M9 compared to an M11 I have as a 'home listening only' player. I also happened to pick up a THX AM3D and duly stuck this on the X7. A bit of A&Bing with the X7/THX against the M11...

FiiO Q5, Flagship DAC/Amp, an Dual DAC, USB/Optical/Coaxial/Line in, share the same amp module with X7.

More by luck than design, I seem to have scored an AM3D - which I immediately stuck on my Q5 and connected via usb to my phone. Clicking through my 'recently played' files in the Fiio music app I noticed that there would be a stutter between tracks - when I clicked to play the next track the...

    FiiO M9 , Android based Hi-Res smart DAP with 3.5/2.5 powerful output|AKM4490 X2 |WiFi|aptX/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA(LHDC)|USB DAC|USB AUDIO OUT

I have both. I have the M11 as my primary home audio player and - in theory - have the M9 for a 'walking about' dap (but that seems to have been temporarily superseded by the use of Sony WF1000XM3's and flac files on an SD on my Android phone - the sound quality of this setup is pretty 'meh'...

FiiO Q5, Flagship DAC/Amp, an Dual DAC, USB/Optical/Coaxial/Line in, share the same amp module with X7.

I think I've got my understanding of how the Q5 might work bass-ackwards. I was using the the fiio USB cable to connect the q5 to a source and trying to will it to connect to the Sonys via Bluetooth. Methinks that it simply does not do that sort of bridge thingy. Impressionistic pairings seem...

FiiO Q5, Flagship DAC/Amp, an Dual DAC, USB/Optical/Coaxial/Line in, share the same amp module with X7.

I impulse-bought a pair of SONY WF1000XM3 bluetooth earphones recently without doing a lot of (read: any) research on codec compatability. They connect to my phone via AAC with no problem and sound, yep, pretty good. To my surprise however my Fiio M9 just throws up its hands at trying to connect...

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future

For walking around, I rather liked the slightly warm & musical sound of the M6 plus the size and ease of using it (compared to the Cayin N3 it replaced - which sounded superb but had a UI from the last century). The M9 works just fine as a high-res walkabout device. I have the M11 at home and...

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future

I've started the process of returning my M6 due to these issues but I think it's worth mentioning that in addition to the screen on/off crackles when connected to my Q5 via USB my unit was also making cracking noises when my finger touched the illuminated screen in order to select and to move...

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future

That's interesting, thanks. It does seem a bit surprising that a device of this kind could get to production with this kind of - I assume - hardware issue not having been noticed and sorted. It would be good if someone from Fiio could weigh in on this? I'd also be interested to know if other...

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future

Thanks, I just tested it with another cable. I can confirm unfortunately that this crackle/crunch noise is not limited to the CL06 and does indeed happen with other usb cables as well. This is a very unwelcome effect in a tiny player that I wanted to use in part as a transport for your excellent...
